I searched for teleporting on the forums and was surprised not to see any results.

Has anybody noticed an increase in teleporting in the past week or so? By teleporting I mean you're in one place, then suddenly the game resets or whatever and you're in another place 10-80 meters away.

It has happened to me, and I don't know why. I have a very excellent internet connection, and while I suppose it's possible that I have a router problem, it seems more likely that there is a server problem.

This is a big problem, and the game cannot survive if it is widespread.

You say you have an excellent connection but also claim you're teleporting a lot. Here's a list of things I can think of.

- do you actually not have that great of an internet connection and you just think it is?
- are you on wireless?
- is your cpu being overrun and is unable to efficiently process the network stack?
- do you have some ridiculous internet security suite that might be causing packets to be blocked/dropped for no apparent reason?
- have you measured your packet loss?
- you should probably measure your packet loss.
- if you haven't measured your packet loss yet, now would be the time.

First step: Check if you selected the correct Server Region for you.

While they could be the cause, the things Wired suggested go way overboard as first steps. Teleportig (or rather rubberbanding) you describe is likely a result of high ping, caused by being connected to far away servers.

I had some issues with my facing jerking around a lot made aiming hard for about a week, haven't noticed it as much since the last patch.
