The bad, inflation (the long way around so bear with me).
For example, quirks.
Previous mechwarrior titles had varying levels of customization, primarily because they were selling a single packaged product. PGI, whose revenue is dependant selling a new mech every month. However PGI shot themselves in the foot by allowing so much customization and hardpoint inflation, which means players don't need new mechs. To compensate they have introduced mechs with ridiculous amounts hardpoint inflation until it became so unwieldy that they implemented quirks to differentiate chassis and incentivize the purchase of new mechs and to attempt to balance older less-inflated chassis. But if used with restraint, quirks have the ability to balance the game but currently they are inflated in value and volume.
The same can be said with other forms of in-game inflation, hardpoints, engine size, speed, etc.
The beauty of this game is that it is constantly growing, and new chassis can fill in the blank (assuming those haven't been filled via inflated game mechanics)

Edit: Phone is not a great posting device.
