I started a new account the other day to see what it was like dropping as a new player.

First thing that happens when you drop in, is that you are hit with this screen.

So new players have to start the tutorial, and will therefore learn most of the elements of piloting a Battlemech from PGI's view.

So I had wanted to sketch together a separate community made guide to go along side the tutorial. So that at every step of the tutorial, they would also have the general play style of the current experienced players to look at too.

It would be a little tip window that would pop up at every step of the tutorial, listing tips made by players. Kind of like the tips you see during loading screens.

There are quite a few "mistakes" that veterans like to point out when they see new players. Some of the mistakes might be encouraged by the tutorial, or simply not addressed.

It could be things like arm lock, throttle management, targeting, weapon ranges, weapon group management, etc.

PGI needs to update their load screen tips as well. Some of them are embarrasingly outdated.

"Equipping ammo allows you to fire your weapons"

"If you see a red triangle, shoot at it"
