To me, it is all about the time saved by using real dollars. As Heavy and Assault Mechs take much longer to save up for than Light and Medium Mechs, I generally only purchase the Heavy or Assault bundles that I find appealing. If I am going to spend, though, I jump in right away with the Early Adopter bundle. They make justifying the purchase much easier. For reference, I bought in on the Maurader, Archer, Kodiak and Cyclops. I think my spending days are over, though. The customization in the game has put me into a position where I can make Mech A with Mech B, so why continue spending? PGI should have thought about that before they allowed such wide-ranging freedom in the Mech Lab.

Any clue what the mech in part 2 is? The one the Cyclops is dealing with? I didn't realize they were bringing 4-leggers into the game.

The last few seconds of the video explains that it is a Dragon 'mech.

I brought the PH even if I havent played the first MW games. It just looks damn good. Alot of hardpoints in arms but they seems slim enough even with weapons on em to avoid getting hit too much. Still for good measure, the side torsos and arms could get some structure/ armor buffs. Its only drawback IMO are almost no hardpoints in torsos.

The Phoenix Hawk is (production year 2568) the Shadow Hawks (prod year 2550) 18 year (and 10 ton lighter) younger cousin. Both Jump jetting hawks with enough differences.

Hawks in battle, hawks for life!

I kept them for the fact of what they are, I don't really care if they are good or not, and the sterling dollar exchange rate is still above $1.40

One of my favourite things about the PHX, beyond the fact that it's going to be a really fast light-medium with ECM and jump jets and a variety of different builds, is that it's not likely to be an instant top tier mech like the Kodiak. This is important now that PGI is only releasing 1 new mech per month, because it means the QP queue won't be 90% Phoenix Hawks, and I probably won't be called a P2W noob every time I have a good match.

This was one of the reasons I played the SHC more than the ACH when they came out. I got little satisfaction playing the ACH because it was common as dirt and everyone complained it was OP. PHX won't be common as dirt and I doubt people will call it OP. So I can enjoy it freely and not see 8 of them on the battlefield in every match.

oh wow... come to think of it!
I think its the last of the MW1 Mechs to make it to MWO No?
Now that we have the Marauder and Warhammer.

Also its prolly the most Stylish Mech in the game.
the Phoenix Hawk that is.

Yes... a bit of MW trivia. In WM1 :
Within the game's combat sequences, only eight different 'Mech designs are available for either side: Locust, Jenner, Phoenix Hawk, Shadow Hawk, Rifleman, Warhammer, Marauder and BattleMaster.

The original fluff had the Phoenix Hawk being the result of re-designing the Wasp (or was it the Stinger?). It retained the speed of its 20 ton forebearer, was more than double its mass, and more than double the firepower.

As you have missed the pre-order deadline for the bonus swag I would suggest you wait until it launches before grabbing it. That way if it's "DOA" you didn't waste the money on it.

Since you no longer get the early order bonus, just wait till they are released, then you can buy after seeing them in game and deciding for yourself if you would like them.

This. At this point there's no pressure to buy, so let other people guinea pig them at release.

It also served as lance command units for lances of Stingers, Wasps and Phoenix Hawks... and as flight leaders for Singer, Wasp and Phoenix Hawk L.A.M. squadrons.

So we have big mechs, fat mechs, mechs that jump alot, little mechs, medium mechs, mechs that run ECM. We have a mech to specialize in every weapon available. We have sniper mechs, boat mechs and mechs that just die alot. That pretty much covers everything we could ask of a mech so there's no reason to bring out any more mechs. So I guess we can call it day and move on to something else. Yup, owning a mech because you like the style or the lore it supported is pretty much fluff and has no place here.

Hopefully you grasped the sarchasm. Henry Ford had a similar thought process. He didn't think you needed any color for your vehicle other than black . Where do you think the world would be if everyone just followed Henry's model. A world with nothing but black vehicles. Such a drab place it would be.

In that case the answer is wait until they come out and see if you want them then.

The first model Ts were grey, green, red and blue. Ford switched to all black about 6 years into production IIRC because the black paints had superior durability and of course buying paint in bulk and eliminating potential mix ups saves money which reduced the price of the model T even further which led to the model T being the first car that sold more than 1 million units in a year.

Good catch. I forgot about the earlier colors. I just remembered the stories of the original commotion he caused by dropping the color options. Another reason for going to black was it was the only color available as fast drying which allowed an increased assembly line output.

The PXH-1 variant supports up to eight jump jets. The PXH-2 variant has ECM - something that is mounted on very few Inner Sphere 'mechs. All variants support up to a 355 engine (That is one short of the 360 it would need to have the same speed as the stock 20-ton locust or 30-ton spider). I think we will see this one showing up a lot as a light scout replacement.
