Just curious if PGI has mentioned doing something for the upcoming Steam Sale such as adding new steam packs or putting other stuff on sale. Something to help retain old players during the sale or attract new ones?

They should put out a Mad Dog pack for those folks that don't want to buy full Clan Wave 1 & 2 sets just to get a c-bill bonus Mad Dog... Maybe even some kind of Heavy Missile Pack with a Mad Dog and an Archer 5W.

Honestly I'd just like to see clan mastery packs in general.

Or relaunch all the old Wave and Reinforcment packs as ala carte $20 packs or $40 if you want the c-bill bonus.

I would probably fork out for Ebon Jags if nothing else.

Yeah, with the new pricing the old invasion packs are just horrible deals. $55 per chassis or pay for crappy mechs to get the good ones.

Would be nice to see new steam packs, preferably some decent ones or at least passable enough.

Wolfhound/Adder - Light

Shadowhawk/Nova - Medium

Grasshopper/Mad Dog (would also settle for an Ebon or Hellbringer, but it'd be extremely nice to have a C-Bill boost Mad Dog that's not $360...) - Heavy

Banshee/Executioner - Assault

Those would be my packs.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they sold all those loyalty variants that are otherwise unaccessible.

We've had our fun. No need to feel like special snowflakes at this point. Let other people enjoy the flying Cicada and other special variants. Most of them are pretty worthless, but there are a lot of collectors out there who would be happy to have them, I'm sure.

Steam takes a huge chunk of the proceeds for anything sold on steam. So PGI's steam items aren't actually designed to be sold so much as to fulfill the requirement that PGI sell SOMETHING in the steam store.

I'm aware of steam taking roughly a 1/3 cut. However, with a Steam Summer sale its people essentially spending money on games they likely won't ever play. So why wouldn't PGI try to cash in on that, even if they are losing a cut? Steam users concurrence numbers become stupidly high during these sales, its the perfect time to advertise the game.

Plus if people are spending money on MWO there is a greater chance that they keep playing it instead of whatever new games they buy.
