Give players the assets to make maps for the game, CSGO and so many other games have community made maps that are actually good. This way you can work out all those features I mean bugs you've been meaning to fix. At least do something... even the flies have moved on to a different carcass.

Not sure how many times this has been asked for and offered...and that is just in the last year or so.
Dare to dream though.

Even if they take the "raw" map from the community and then polish it ( and by polishing it i mean add clutter to it) i think this will work

We pretty much already have all the assets and tools to create functional maps for MWO. What we need is a dev environment to boot into CE so we can run around maps with a mech (it's just not the same dropping into them with the default CE exe and driving jeeps around it.)

If you give 100% ability to create map they will have to fire their mapping team.

BF4 had a community created map, that is to say they were given choices about what kind of map, many layout to chose from, testing etc etc. In the end it's one of the best map in BF4. We could get to vote on layout and such, thought im afraid we wil end up with a parking lot or restricting hallways like canyon(i hate canyon) if the dev arent careful.

Maps and mods kept original CoD alive nd on top for almost a decade. Hell, the community created CoDMW, but players are dumb. Once they chose DLC over the players it turned into the crap they have now.

People say, "oh it will be buggy and possible exploits". Well, fixing a no effort free map is much easier than creating it from nothing. Plus they get more of a sense of what the actual players want.

But ya, this is a topic that really has gone nowhere over the years.

Long ago PGi said "No". They had a few technical and business reasons. If I recall one was it would take as much time to vet a map for play as to actually create it from scratch.

Not sure I buy their logic - but so far they have nixed the option.

MWLL had some great maps. I don't mind something similar getting imported into MWO. I say yes to community made maps. MWO's development moves at such glacial speed, it is infuriating at times.

Hm, if there would be a server where you could inject those things to be tested by the community...

They just don't want players outdoing their work (Honestly wouldn't be that hard either), just look at all the stuff made by modders for Bethesda games

Didn't Russ say he wasn't interested in what we, the community, had to say about the game regarding balance, gamemodes, maps, etc?

It doesn't usually happen in free to play games, though it has happened before. The format one game I played used is they ran a few community map event, and the submissions that won were basically preliminary architectural drawings that the map making team used as reference to create the map. IIRC, everyone voted, then out of the top 10, the staff picked the top 3.
