Hey all,
What are your thoughts on medium brawlers, and what's your favorite build to run? I'm finding that mediums have the speed and armor to brawl well with proper torso twisting. This is my current favorite:

I chose the LB10-X because of the increased critical damage on unarmored components and the weight advantage over the AC-10.

Blackhawk, with a dozen Er small lasers, add Quad machine guns or triple ams an a flamer to taste.

Shadowhawk, dual uac 5 with triple srm 4's. Tiiny engine though, but man does it pack a punch.

Pheonix hawk, Coming soon to fit the theme ^__^.

Hunchback, more dual uac madness, It's a favourite.

Wolverine, Srms and pulse lasers, those dual ac5s can work okay, if not quite upto snuff when compared to ... other ballistics builds I tend to favour.

Hunchback Mark Two, Clan Version, Dual lbx 20's, dual gauss with er smalls, Dual Uac 10's with lasers.... there is a theme here.

my favorite is trebuchet 7m with 1 jumpjet 1 ERppc and 3 srm4, xl320 engine with the hill climb module and both erppc/srm4 cooldown mods too. you can climb anything with just 1jj and that module and that lets me put some good shots and hop away with zig zag movements right after very nimble and light on my feet.
its my favorite and best medium.
i also have a brawler kintaro with (4xsrm6-1srm4-1LL / XL330 engine) and its quite powerful in 4v4 and durable and has a good punch but it doesn't have the agility of the trebuchet and i hate the missile door mechanic also

i tried to run srm griffin but i dont like it. i think the kintaro the way i built it has way more firepower tbh. my griffin was 4xsrm6 and 2medpulse.

Hard question. There are so many great medium brawlers. My favorites us big AC's, SRM4's or 6's and/or ML/MPL.

The Blackjacks are great at this as well as the Hunchback, Crab, Griffin, Shadowhawks and Centurions. I don't like the Wolverines as much here for some reason, I just don't do as well in them. Vindicators are not that great either. The Cicada to me is more of a light mech and that is how I play it. The other IS mechs in this class I have not played as much.

All that said, I did not mention the Enforcer. I have brawling builds on all of them and I really like them. My favorite is probably the ENF-5D. Not a great alpha, but with MPL and LBX10 cooldown modules this thing can fire constantly for long periods of time. With the JJs and XL300 it has speed and maneuverability. It is not meta, but I perform the best in this one compared to all my other mediums.

As for Clan, the Stormcrow followed by the Nova. Nova is tougher to manage the heat for me. Lately I have stumbled upon this Stormcrow build and it is a great brawler. I like it because it can really rock pesky lights, but also has very nice firepower. I fire 2MPLs in WG1 and 2MPLs in WG2 and use the 3SSRM6's in WG3. Very heat efficient that way and I can fire almost constantly without over heating.

I almost forgot I have to put the HBK-IIC in here as well. Currently my favorite medium, but I use it more as a mid range skirmisher, it is a bit fragile to brawl with.

Of all my brawlers, the SRM Griffins are the ones I do best with, but my Shadowhawks are the ones I love playing most. I like the Gray Death with an AC20 and 4ML, and the 2D2 with 4SRM4s and an AC10.

The most fun i have had is in my Nova-B 338/338 armor, prime torso's and arms B legs and head , 12 heatsinks, tcomp 1 and 12 CL-ER SML fired 6 at a time (alpha is too hot).
Will be puting modules for the lasers on it (cooldown and range) and will probably buy 2 more nova's to unlock the elite skills

Have killed big-uns more then once without noticing me or noticing me when it is too late.

I've been running BJ's since I picked up the game last year and had good luck with them, but used them in more of a long range sense. Got a SHD-2K to try my hand at closer range brawling and settled on a build with 3xSRM6 and 3xMPL that I'm really enjoying. Got over 1K damage with it last week
