So far, Kodiaks have proven to be extremely crunchy even with 94 points of armor and +10 internal. I get one volleyed and one shotted all the time... it feels crunchier than my Marauders that its ridiculous for a 100 ton mech... why is that? PGI, Kodiak needs some love, we paid good money for it and now its not even fun to play with... Perhaps a +20 internal or something kind of quirk will balance it out.

...or... maybe we wait until the hitboxes get adjusted so the mech literally isn't 70% CT on the torsos. It's coming. It doesn't need any further quirks than what it has. Also, why do you only have 94 points of armor? Mine runs 116 in the front with plenty in the back. That, and do you really think 20 additional structure will save you when focused by enemy mech fire? (It won't.)

WHAT?! 70%?! no wonder I always get CTed! Oh, I should put more armor to the front then... I am running over 30 on the back

The CT is currently gigantic. I believe Tina said in another thread that the next patch will adjust the hitboxes a bit. I assume that means more arm hitbox and less CT hitbox, which is great. That means the mech will be a bit easier to armor roll and shield with.

And yeah. Point towards enemy. I NEVER put more than 10 points in the rear torso, and on heavy mechs or lighter, I max out at 5. I have no intention of showing the enemy my exhaust ports.

Remember that it's PGI's way initially to balance the two sides: IS on average get more durability and agility quirks while Clan get none. Bad Clan robots could get some of those quirks.

But seriously you are being CT'ed so you think you need quirks because you have over a 3rd of your armor on the back?

Don't think so

The Kodiak is fine as is for the moment.

30 armour on your rear? I know oxide/JNR-IIC SRM bombers are powerful but come on!

I never run even double digit back armor, regardless of the mech.

There's your 20 points! :)

No offense but, the point that your kodiak feels squishy might have something to do with the fact that everybody and their grandma' brings a kodiak to the game.

If you have about 12 kodiaks with 50~ uac10 plus 12 other random mechs into a game.. yeah.. even assault class armor melts pretty fast.

Don't listen to their attempts to confuse and deceive you! Put ALL your armor in the back and roll like a boss! Posted Image
