I have mastered three Centurions, but only own one currently, but yeah, it seems the Timber Wolf just might be the 'Mech I buy next, judging by how well everyone speaks of it here (that, and I do have a certain fondness for it, even though the price of one is staggering and will take a quite a bit of grinding to buy one.

The upshot to the price is there is nothing to upgrade.
No super spendy XL motor, heatsinks or endo. It is all there already.
If you look at the price tag of a (properly meta) kitted out BlackKnight you will be in a similar ball park.
