I was very happy to find that you released the Mektek (MW4) Marauder model!
It's too bad that all those fine details are squeezed down into a 512 texture.
I double-layered the texture.tga over the base camo to give it a bit more "depth".
Now, if I can just find the time to build this booger.
Hi, yes I try to be active and release mechs when I have time. I go through periods where I would do a lot of mechs in a short period of time and then go back in to idle mode.
It really is a pity that almost all the mechs have a 512 texture. I did contact some artists at mektek but could not find any high res textures for the mechs. Seems like their work is lost for ever which is a pity.
Hope too see a built of your Marauder

TBH.........Google Sketchup !!!!!
Makes life so much easier when cleaning up these models. Takes me about 3 or 4 days to clean up a mesh and make all the parts fit.
The unfolding is relatively quick although I find it very boring
Currently I am working on a non MW4 / Mektek model yet it still is a mech.

The Highlander was my very first MW4 mech that I took through the whole production line ........ from cleaning to building. It also has a special place since SMTK sent me a resin model he made from the paper plans.

Thanks for the kind words.
As for paper, I generally use 200gsm but for the smaller parts I sometimes use 160gsm or even 120gsm. The smaller parts usually needs a thinner card since folding them can be a pain if using to thick a card.
Another tip would be to re-enforce the inside of large faces / parts so that they do not warp or buckle in or outwards. For those I collect any card of thick card , cereal boxes work great
Blaar's personal tip : I use a small art brush to apply the glue to larger flaps and parts. Just remember to clean the brush afterwards. I have been using my small brush for years now. Oh yes. The brush must be relatively stiff not to soft bristles.
Mine looks similar to the one below, just a bit smaller and the brush it self bit stiffer.

The other 2 stock MW4 mechs is the Bushwacker and Wolfhound.
Fear not, myself will get to those soon. Maybe first the Bushwacker then the Wolfhound. That is after the mechs from Whammy that I am currently working on.

BIG THANKS TO WHAMMY WHO KINDLY SHARED THESE !!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to get some of his mechs models from the members who he shared it with, and now I bring them to you.
The mechs are :
Dark Age Madcat IV
Dark Age Vulture IV
Dark Age Marauder IIC
Warhammer
Warhammer IIC
Wasp
Zeus
All of his models are low poly models, which means fewer parts than the Mechwarrior 4 mechs, yet they still look great and Whammy's way of texturing the models are great.
These should keep all the paper mech heads happy and busy for a while.
As a final note, I just want to say it again :
BIG THANKS TO WHAMMY WHO KINDLY SHARED THESE !!!!!!!
The models can be downloaded from my MediaFile folder below:
