Finished the beta builds of the Mektek Black Heart and the MW4 Cauldron Born. Should have these models uploaded during the week for those who want to build them.

Are you planning on making them with full-HD resolution and tessalation?

Just kidding. They are really nice.

Thanks all.

@ Adridos : I wish I had the talents to enhance / make the textures better and increase it's resolution but sadly I can't. I know you are just kidding , but it really is something I wish I could do.

Anyhow. I finished the work on the Mektek - Wildcat, and should start the beta build soon. This model has a lot more parts then the usual MW4 mechs that I have put out. Normally a MW4 mech has about 60-80 parts, but the Wild Cat has 145 or so parts.

Should make for a good looking model once built.

I finally got the images of my mechs so far. Took me long enough. ;)

I am no photographer, so they will not be correct from a photographic point of view. :)

Thank you for sharing those, the Hyena you built was the first and I believe the only one I have ever seen built.

Great work.

Don't think I posted the Templar paper model here.

Amazing work...

I actually modeled some Mechs using sculpting clay once, I have photos but the models were destroyed by a crazy woman.

Thanks BLaaR, I really like the Hyena, it is a departure from the norm. Was a good challenge to build too. :(
Gotta have a salvage mech.

Edit : You are most welcome. And thank you for the models, and all who made them. :(

Any chance you guys have that Cougar.PDO lying around anywhere? It's my favorite mech and I'd like to take a shot at it.

-Thanks

Hi every one.

I have always been a mech head playing just about all mech games on PC ranging from the first BattleTech Crescent Hawks Inception till MechWarrior 4 mercs.

My obsession for mechs lead me to the mechwarrior3.org forum where I found a new hobby and best thing it included mechs.

There I learned from the masters such as shiftdel, zecks, vlmarshall and cantaris on how to make and build these paper models.

So now, 4 years later I am going strong releasing model after model along with a new bread of great community members such as monkeyrum, YogSolthan and a few others.

I saw one or two posts here of members requesting paper models. Currently I am working on releasing mostly MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries Mektek mechs but I have also released some retail mechs from the original MW4 Mercs. Oh yes, I have made some Star Wars walkers and droids and even models from Star Siege Tribes.

Last thing before I start posting where you can see updates and download the models :

1. Thank you to Piranha for making and rebooting the MechWarrior franchise.
2. Hello to all the people I know, I see some familiar faces even though they are posting under other names. Especially those who are making the resin models Posted Image
3. I am always open to suggestion and requests if you want a paper model that has not yet been released.

Oky so now onto the where and how.

I usually update my works in progress and releases at either :

MechWarrior 3

My next Mektek Mech

or

Paper Modelers

Mechwarrior 4 Mechs

All my models are available at either :

My MediaFire page

or

Paper Modelers download page - > You will need to register and post before you are able to download from their download section.

So there you go. If you want to build a paper model, then simply download, print, score, cut glue and build.

Please post pics of your built paper mechs.

Enjoy.

BLaaR

Below is a small You Tube vid I made showing some of the mechs that I have built.

So, what would you need to slap together some based off my custom designs? Full orthographics, or the like?

@bishop

I have only modeled 2 mechs from screens shots etc, and they are the Kanazuchi and the Ursus.

I prefer to work with models that have a texture since believe it or not, that is where all the hard work is, and it is not something that is easily taught. It is like the artists here, they jsut have a natural talent to draw amazing works of art.

Thing is, the texture makes or breaks a model. You can have a bad model with a great texture and it will look great, but then you can have a great model with a crappy texture and it will not look as good.

I know some of the modelers here is going to shoot me and don't get me wrong, modeling complex models is hard and difficult to get every thing in proper scale but, any one can model (specially with Sketchup's ease of use), maybe not complex models or anitmantions but not any one can create realistic good looking textures from UV maps. Sure you can follow some tuts on how to create good looking textures but it is still hard, I have tried many times, I just could not capture the look and feel.

Unless you have a proper textured model I strongly doubt I will ever adapt it to be a paper model.

Hi Guys,

Couldn't resist to jump into this discussion.

You have made my day, for real.

Your models look great to me. A bunch of artistic guys stucked in the middle of the fight. Great. :D

I was doing some googlin' to find out if we can actually build some of this machines , for office/desktop use in paper.

All the models i have seen are a little bigger for my actual desktop.

Does any of the links there have this size? (so far i couldnt find any)

Regards,
