Talk is cheap and nothing to put hopes on...that is the lesson learned dealing with PGI. You know what is better than nothing? Delivering a good game play experience and there is no amount of talk before hand that is necessary for that. Both would be amazing but we know they can't accomplish both at the same time let alone the prior 5 years later. We are not dealing with a well run dev team here.

Sure, but the game is never going to meet EVERYONE'S expectations, no matter how "good" the game. The reality is that yes, even after 5 years or whatever this game is sill being developed and changed. So you can either hope to learn more from the devs and perhaps even get excited about those developments (false promises or not) or you can just hate on everything.

I want nothing more than for this game to be awesome, for the devs to give me a reason to blow even more obscene amounts of $ on it than I already have. It won't take much for them to get me there so yeah, for me details even just a few help. But you're right they could just make a super duper game that is perfect in every way, but until then they could do those of us that still have hope for something more reasonable a favor and give us some information.

I was just asking my unit mates last night if this game would have been better on a custom engine that could handle Destructable Terrain and Persistant PvPvE servers. But I accept that this is what we have. So I deal with it.

I only have the expectations that PGI told me to care about. I guess they can flip the switch and tell me what I should expect from the game now since I already took their bait and they got my money.

Honestly, if anyone but a founders says this, it is their own fault. They could have played MWO for free and made a choice based upon what they saw happening and has happened before.

I abstained from being a founder to wait for open beta. Then bought in and bought in big especially after the CW presentation at the launch party tournament. It isn't about the money because it just discretionary to satiate my PC gaming hobby and I spend much more annually than was given to PGI, which they would have continued to get a large share of should they have done right by everything.

I don't prescribe to timelines and amount spent on the game in order to have a valid right to conversate or criticize. Even true F2P players have just as much a right to speak on and about as any whale or founder does and feel as they wish without needing justification by any other persons terms.

There is a difference between criticizing and being downright hostile. The hostile attitude will get everyone involved absolutely nowhere.

I am sorry that you feel that you have to be hostile to feel that someone is paying attention. Because that hostility is making people pay less attention to your valid criticism.

I am broken record at this point, not really concerned about anyone paying attention. The MWO forums is just a place for cathartic vomiting.

I understand the attitude. I am actively trying to change it. I spent quite a few real bucks on pixelated mechs in the relatively short time I have been here, and it frustrated me.

But that frustration gpt me nowhere. It was a self perpetuating cycle, and I am actively trying to break that.

Don't get your hope up when PGI promises anything. I believe it as soon as it's on the server, not a second before that. If you want to know what happens when PGI announces new features, just take a look at my sig Posted Image

I would like to point out that this thread is suppose to be about my lack of patience and in that it was suppose to be funny. Not a slight against PGI.

It was funny. It also had a PTSD trigger for a title.

I can't wait for the command wheel. It will be funny to see what game breaking issue it causes...

1. Does the command you send get magically mirrored to the enemy team...
2. Will it cause our map or hud to disappear
3. Or somehow damage a random teammate...

Anybody want to start a pool?

Oh, I don't know, maybe more details might get some folks excited about the game, about upcoming features, about things coming soonTM

Anything is better than nothing...

Well they just shared the new Catapult hero with a roll over rescale comparison today.

Bottom line:
Things are complex. Be patient.
Sorry, this is reality.

As someone who has validated software let me share something with you.

Software developers overstate the complexity of their software. The complexity of the software is directly proportional to the software developers understanding of what they are developing. Bad developers tend to make things complex, good developers make things straight forward and easy.

Sorry, this is reality.

To the OP, my rule of thumb is the amount of patience needed in any situation is inversely proportional to the intelligence of the person whom you are dealing with.
