Alright, first I must state that I am simply tired of the pure negativity and complaining that, not just this community, but any community present when even the smallest change is made.
Here is the thing about changes. It creates change! What a concept! This is a good thing. Without change, you would simply be negative about the same thing and complain about lack of change.
Now that I've said that, let's look at the positive aspects. Change brings new ideas, fresh minds, feelings (negative and positive) and feedback. PGI is doing a wonderful job (and yes, I have my own complaints and rants about things) at keeping change happening even if sometimes only on a small scale and in longer waits than some might like. This certainly isn't the game I started playing in beta and I am ok with that. This game is being modified constantly so instead of seeing the same few 'mechs with the same few builds we see a variety of them change all the time.
I know many very quickly became sick of seeing the kdk-3 but you know what? It's just the flavor of the month currently time has yet to pass and eventually it will fade. People complained almost as much about dakka wolf. Lets just keep giving -positive- ideas instead of constantly trying to tear them down.
Let's face it. Without PGI you would not have these beautiful 'mechs to stomp around in nor have someone to direct your wrath at if your small laser suddenly doesn't do the job.

I get the spirit of where you're coming from, but I see you're a long time resident of this game, you know the huge misstep's made in the past if you've been around as long as your account says you have. You've been here for all the broken promises, and shattered dreams. You've been here for every time a "Feature" was added, even when a good portion of the player base rallied against said feature.
You've been here long enough to understand why so many are salty. But saying that "without PGI, you wouldn't have these beautiful mechs to stomp around in." is actually quite false, arguably if PGI hadn't made MWO, MW4;Mercs Mektek edition would be still alive and thriving[as it was prior to MWO's release]. Mechwarrior: Living Legends would probably still be under active development [and likely even have a mechbay by this point.] Sure, we wouldn't have the same visual fidelity, but I'd sure as hell have decent joystick support that doesn't punish me for trying to use a HOTAS setup in competative modes.
It's a mixed bag man, I love this game, hell I've sunk around 2k usd into this game, so I'd better love it. BUT, I'm also willing to point out it's faults, and to hold the devs to a higher standard.

Most of this is right and the last part is really irrelevant.
Is MechWarrior Online a good game? For sure. Is it a fully featured game? Not a chance. Is it a AAA game like it was said it would be in closed beta? Not yet, but its headed that way. At least slowly. Meanwhile this year has been the best year for additions to the game yet.
About the Kodiac, it isn't that OP at all. I am sure a well piloted and outfitted Atlas or King Crab could match it for the most part. Although those two mechs may be more challenging they would make quick work of the Kodiak close up with most load outs running around. Great Atlas and King Crab pilots are few and far between. They are not easy mode at all but can do very well.
