I hate Japanese robot cartoons.

You might want to do a little research on the Battletech origins. I believe it was created in Europe or America. Japan had nothing to do with Battletech or any Mechwarrior being created, besides a few images that were purchased (and also sold to Harmony Gold, holders of the series Robotech/Macross).
