I really hate how the Dire Wolf got shorter lengthwise. I always liked the MWO rendition of the Dire Wolf out of the other MW games because of its proportions except for MW2, which I think got the Dire Wolf's proportions the best.

For an example:

Before this rescale, the MWO machine looked a lot closer to this drawing of the sleek, deadly 100-tonner I love. The drawing above is based on the sideview of the 'mech from TRO: 3050

To me, now it looks like the model is as pudgy as the one use in MW4 Posted Image

On the flipside, looking at its nose from the front, it isn't as huge, which makes it look better.

All I can hope for is that this 'mech looks better in-game than it does in the 'mech lab views.

Yes, it actually is. It wasn't before. But if you truly look at them two got bigger and two got a little smaller.

Seeing the EXE get bigger concerns me a bit. It was already a niche 'Mech that felt a bit fragile. Giving it a larger profile may negate its maneuverability as a mitigation for that fragility.

It already suffers from low amounts of free tonnage. I'm afraid this is going to make it a pariah, like an assault version Summoner.

If so, will they give it some additional Quirks to compensate and balance?

just remember, with lower mechs comes the hill fire problem, it aint all outright good, objects you could shoot over before may be an obstacle now.

HGN-IIC did NOT deserve that. It's already a hard mode mech.

EXE got so big it can't fit in the picture. RIP.

I don't think this will change the confusion between the Dire Wolf and the Warhawk.

What's worse is the inexplicable size increase of the Executioner and Highlander IIC... the latter is not even a thought to be used in the current game.

I'm surprised the Gargoyle didn't get bigger to join its brother in arms.

Seriously PGI, what is scaling?

At least the HGN-IIC got a new set of Quirks.

EXE has some Quirks but also locked hoverjets and engine (though I like it fast) and overall less hardpoints. MASC is still great, so that's not a detriment. EXE is gonna need some structure ASAP to retain it's (already tentative) viability.

Dire Wolf:
Hm. I wonder, how it would have looked long (from rear to front)) and low (showing less torso when peeking frontally).

Executioner is dead after growing so large it can't fit in the image, and the Highlander 2whatever is finished as well since it's now even more of a target. Neither one of these mechs were great before the mech Re-bloating, but now they are trash-tier. Good thing the useless Dire Wolf got smaller. Posted Image

I was really hoping the Warhawk would have gotten a narrower Torso from the front. In much of the artwork, it has quite a bit of room between the arms and Torsi, which I think it would help it a lot since it's basically the size of a Direwolf in MWO, but with less armor.
I didn't think the Highlander IIC could get any bigger. Guess I was wrong

I would have preferred the Dire to get more narrowing and less shortening. It's definitely an improvement, you could have fit a company of light mechs in its torsos before. (now only 10 will fit)

The Highlander IIC and Executioner were probably big enough already, they have such huge frontal surface areas. Rescaling by volume really doesn't help the humanoid mechs. However it is very sensible from a realism perspective.

While it's probably more realistic, I have a bad feeling Executioner and Highlander's growth spurt will make them quite a bit less viable. I haven't use Highlander so that's just a suspicion. Executioner however was already somewhat of a niche mech. Definitely good at peeking fast with it's MASC, but I wonder if it won't be able to use a lot of cover now. I'm also worried I'm not going to be able to look down enough to see a Locust at 90m or closer haha. I suspect these may be change again or even undone.

Still no improvements or added quirks for Gargoyle... I wonder if Russ hates that mech haha.
