if you are a vet, or really anyone... and a pug sucks.. DEAL WITH IT!!!!

I am so sick of PUg players that think they all that.. and even if they get 500 or 600+ in a pug... (guess what, if you are on a good team if you are over 400 your team F'n sucked!!!

You wonder why steam numbers drop? maybe try not being such a D-bag playing a pug..

PUG's are to teach people how to play

they are to let people screw around in new biulds, and try new mechs..

and yes, they are to help people laern to play....

What they arent is some a-hole guy, saying... All you damn noobds.. ruined my match.. Well guess what if you are playing a pug that came happen/

But i must say, Please PGI, give us a check box that lets us only play our tier or higher.. and no its not cause i care, im forever stuck at t3, but for those that they should just play their t, be it 5 or 1, or 0???? let them... HOnestly, if i wanna play in the 20 min wait T1 only que... why not???

Just please stop dropping in pugs.. and pusing people away because the level of comp isnt what you want.. And yea.. It pisses me off to at times.. TURRET WARRIOR ONLINE!!! wt&^^.. But hey, often the game is darn fun

News for you bro. Numbers aren't dropping because of vets aggroing in PUG matches. Player retention is PGIs fault.

Of course when half the team gets sub 200 damage, the team performed poorly

That's the PUG LIFE

It just makes my 500 damage look all that much greater!

Player retention is low because while the game is fun, the learning curve is higher than any game this side of EVE, rewards are low enough that folks end up having to play 20 hours for their next mech after they end up blowing their cadet bonus on a mech that looks cool but doesn't really suit them.

Ultimately, unless PGI either drastically improves FW gameplay to keep people fighting for their faction of choice, makes the tutorial useful and informative, or makes acquisition of the next shiny not so tedious player retention is going to remain low among those who don't have battletech nostalgia..

All new players should get a blackjack or TBR for free, as they're the 2 most versatile mechs out there. Can pretty much cover all the basics with them.

I'd never bash a dude for not being able to aim very well, but when he isn't even trying to do anything, well ...
When half your team is just standing doing nothing waiting to get rekt while other half is actually shooting stuff like 200m away don't be surprised when lots of angry angry words are gonna follow.
To be able to learn one must be willing to learn, i.e. try to do something useful, listen to what he is told and "deal with it" as you put it.

Plus, PGI claims that their MM is matching people according to skill. Given that I assume that most people I'm playing with are either T1 or T2, which in turn means that when they fail to do at least 300dmg they are playing bad on purpose and thus getting bashed quite deservedly. If MM isn't working it ain't my problem. If you (or PGI) got a problem with that then "deal with it". Better yet, "fix yer own sh!t".

I have noticed that the majority of the 'elite' players that get angry during PUG matches tend to have been killed early in the game. They then cycle round the remaining players to find the 'culprit' of their demise which is normally anyone packing LRMs or someone in a subpar mech of some description. They then either become vocal on coms or chat explaining how the team sucks and how great they are and that they only died because nobody pushed at the right time. What they do not take into consideration is that they never said anything productive to the team while they were alive, they likely attacked someone for mentioning a weapon system they dislike (LRM) and they wonder why nobody followed them into battle.

Stop taking PUG matches so seriously... It makes you look like a ****

I think its fun(ny) when half your team is walking in circles looking at their mechs feet.

My 2 cbills on this. I have been playing since closed beta and you cannot take this game seriously. If you do, you will end up burnt out and bitter. I don't get to play as much as I would like but people tend to get angry when things don't go their way and they get on a bad losing streak. Just like last night, wife had to work late and I got to play for a few hours. Played 8 games and lost all 8 due to team Potato antics. Figuring it was going to be that type of night. So I just exited the game and found something else to do.

Moral of the story. Don’t let he tryhards get you down and you can always mute or report toxic players that abuse VoIP or chat.

Is this your first PvP experience, I'd be inclined to say yes, because while there are some anally retentive people playing, the toxic comments are far far fewer than any other PvP game I played, don't suggest world of tanks, as someone will call others rather rude things every single match.

Also some charming person, came here telling all us vets how badly we sucked, and now that the game was on steam, it was going to be proven what a punch of noobs we all were now some real people where arriving, so it goes both ways.

Simple reason numbers fall, it has a high learning curve, and there is nothing to do, due to Faction warfare being so poorly designed, and no shinney badges to win

This....

I only get truly pissed when people don't read the instructions on how to play the game mode . . . like ignoring the circle on domination or the enemy base in assault. It's okay to suck, but at least understand the basics of the game mode.

Oh, I think both can take the blame there. Overzealous perfectionist pilots and bad communication from PGI. Unholy mix, It scares the little puglets away, sad really.
