For some reason, when summer solstice event started, my steam is asking me to update MWO. But nothing is coming from the network, I am not downloading anything. But it's just requiring a 5 min validation. (well, at least it says it's validating, I don't actually know what it's doing)
Is anyone else also getting this?

Ok, confirmed. It's doing this EVERYTIME i restart my computer. What the heck, nobody else is getting this?
Edit: Ok, I have checked. It's essentially checking for the integrity of my game files everytime i launch. I went to check for the integrity of the game file, and got the same behavior where in the download library, it says it's validating.
the launch textbox is different, in that when I select "validate integrity of my game" it doesn't say "updating"
So for some reason, my steam client is thinking validating game files as updating. Is there anyway to fix it? I scour google, and I don't think anyone have the same problem.

I'm also one of the last Steam MWO players.
My game starts up just fine.
So, yeah.. an uninstall/reinstall is about all you can do.
