Not very impressive...

My play style gravitated from lights to assaults so my kills went up as well as my wins.


Last month I was 1/4th the bar
This month, about 2 days ago I hit tier 2


I blame the KDK 3, I have put 178,000 XP on this thing and modules and I believe this chassis single-handedly bumped me up.

For those of you that think we will ALL float to the top eventually, we'll see. I doubt I will but I didn't think I'd ever see tier 2 with my skill.

Yet you still got only 0.96 WLR in that beast. Skill levels are different for everyone but still... are you running machine guns in its ballistic slot?

tiers don't mean a thing... I started playing again after maybe a year out... and I jumped into T2 after a few days... its just a glorified xp bar

Regardless, welcome to tier 2 Xetelian. Grinding xp bar or not. Until accuracy on components is a thing, or efficiency of kills, there's not really any other system that works and has a similar effect for controlling balance via small player base. I'm sure viable alternatives have been suggested in the past , and I can't think of any. Side note, I've come to realize that alot of ideas get recycled on here, kind of a what's old is new thing , because of the flux of forum warriors, myself included, being relatively new on here.
Xetelian, I'm betting that you have actually gotten better as well in play style, build viability, and situational awareness ie anti-tunnel vision lol.

thanks for the proof kdk 3 sucks as much as I thought lol. My dire wolf has 2x the firepower lol.

Yeah, you can put 24 hardpoints on a DWF and twice the firepower, my KDR on my DWF is 1.1 as well

The difference in speed is pretty good, I can twist faster but the CT is huge so it doesn't really matter if I twist I'm getting CT cored either way.


I the KDK doesn't obsolete the DWF at all. Each have their own special ways, one can be setup with any hardpoints and JJs while the other is able to change the engine and go faster.

I agree 100 percent. Try swapping those two 10s for 5s. Believe it or not the shorter cycle time will allow you to put out loads more damage. Make sure you have about 10 tons of ammo for them. If you have extra tonnage swap those medium lasers for pulse. My dire wolf uses 4x UAC 5, 6 er small lasers, and 2 lrm 10 or srm 6 depending on my mood and the mission profile.

Don't expect too much difference in Tier 2 (which you are at now). Take it from a Tier 1. It is an XP bar only.

- People hugging mechs to get kill/block shots? Happens a lot here. Even called someone out for it in the next game just last week.
- People blocking you from behind? Yep. Been yelling at my monitor "STOP HUMPING ME!!!" last few times I played.
- And, those wonderful loadouts? How about a Griffin with LRM15 and a PPC? Had a fresh one being face tanked by a PPC Wolfhound at the end of the game just Friday (I was finishing off my Oxide before the double nerf on Tuesday). He died...I facepalmed.

Reasons why I'm not really bothering with the grab bag event. Causing me too much heartburn. Got two days premium time coming to me, so I may bump back in and level my Kodiaks when they get their hit boxes fixed on Tuesday.

Congrats on the massive improvement. What matters is that we improve. It'll take awhile for your KDR to reach 1.0, but once you get there, you'll be aiming 2.0. Your WLR has had a massive improvement.

With regards to your KDK3 build, its too hot. Drop the lasers, add heat sinks and more ammo. I used to use 2 mediums, then downgraded to 2 smalls, and now i've dropped them altogether. You need more ammo and more heat sinks to last longer and kill more. Try it, and you might like it.

I think if you can get to Tier 3, you can get to Tier 1. Everyone says it is an XP bar, which for most people may be true, but I'd like to remind people that there are some that are "stuck" in Tier 4 or 5.

Everyone pay attention to this: Be very thankful you're not one of those poor souls. Everyone likes to pretend otherwise, but sometimes the system does sh*t on you, and then you're screwed forever.

Back when I played LoL (ewww, the cancer, I can feel its shadow), I wasn't a bad player - by no means was I a great player either, but certainly not awful - but for the first 5 matches I played in the ranked queue, I was stuck with joke teams and basically consigned to elo hell through no fault of my own. Needless to say, that's what actually saved me from playing LoL any more.

If you played a long time before tiers, it takes much longer than a new acct to get to tier 1. That's why this account is only tier 2, while an account i started 3 months ago is tier 1.

I played LoL 2009-14 I have UFO corki but not King Rammus for beta testers. I also have Silver Kayle for buying the game at Best Buy not knowing it was free to play.

I have completed ~3400 matches and have every champion up to when Ekko was released as well as 20 Rune pages of unique runes. I own all but a few runes and don't even use 90% of them and still have 20 unique pages.



I was Bronze V the first time I started Ranked matches, then I got up to Silver 1 but just couldn't win enough games in a row to break into gold. So I gave up on the game entirely. 40 Minute matches are too long for anyone with even the slightest semblance of a life. Getting better at the game was exasperating, I could carry 20/2/0 but none of my teammates had a positive K/D or assists. I mainly played Jungle and Top and won my lane more often than not but just couldn't seem to carry hard enough to make up for 4 other people.




Tier 2 so far as been EXACTLY like tier 3. Same amount of time to find matches too.




Yeah my KDK runs hot but I've had a few 1400 damage games where I ran out of bullets so I only use the erML when I'm out or as a quick way to finish someone off when jammed. Yes ALL 4 jam all the damn time.


I was thinking about going with 2 MPL or going back to 4 SPL because that was pretty devastating a few games that I did that.
