I wonder if stock plus modules or stock + camo is enabled.

Only thing he said was a button for stock mode and another button to toggle on/off the quirks.

People used to have a thread to create stock mode. I hope they start again so others, like me maybe, can join once in a while for some good clean fun.

More importantly... we can do a 3025 tech stock mech league now without a bunch of ******** cheating!

Yes but they can "take back the night" and feel empowered.
IE
If it makes them stop bitchin, play along and say "do you feel better now dear"

There are still stock mechs that are way better than others, and smart players will still club the BT/TT fans who want to play their favorites.

An enforced stock mode could actually open up some cool league/tournament possibilities.

Makes me wonder whether this may have something to do with the PVE in the pipeline. Being able to pick a mech from your lineup but it forces you into stock so they can balance the missions, got it working and decided to throw it to private matches because, why not.

Of course there are. Nobody really think that making things stock changes their geometry.

There are some interesting differences that happen in stock though. Archer having more armor than most other mechs anywhere near it's weight class, overheating being a lot more prominent, that sort of thing.

A good pilot in a hunchback in normal games will still be a good pilot in stock mode.

Hell maybe I'll start a stock tourney.

That makes a lot of sense and probably is exactly the long term plan. Trying to balance AI around fully custom loads is doable, but horribly annoying and will require a lot more work than balancing for stock opponents.

Not true it will be used at least 4 or 5 times.

Actually I could see some kind of 3025 mode being used a bit. Although it would be nice if the main game was good enough to not have to make such things in the first place.

Your kidding right? I've seen comments and wishes for it quite often. I think it will be darn fun to run vanilla/ stock setups.
I hope there wont be quirks and/ or modules involved. Nice to see an option for on/ off though.
Also I think it wont dent the ordinary PUG que much. I think it will actually help the game, bring some varity Posted Image

Before quirks we were running 2-3 Stock Mech nights per week, with Mondays often having to split into multiple lobbies - and that's with players having to buy extra 'mechs to keep them stock, and no assistance from PGI at all. Now we can join a private lobby and click a couple buttons and be playing stock? That's excellent.

If I can play stock mode, why would I play anything else? TTK is long, games are fun, and the 'mechs work like they're supposed to.

Stock mode is best mode.
