I'd give that suggestion 4 legs up.

PGI aside, as long as Microsoft maintains the IP, I would not crowdfund anything with any sort of long term goal.

As I understand it, the Battletech IP seems to be all over the place with who can publish the classic TT, movies, novels, figurines, etc, but the Mechwarrior video game rights is solely owned by MS. They seem to have great interest in keeping that forever, but no interest in producing and expanding it.

I do believe (dons tinfoil hat now) that PGI is attempting to make changes to promote population retention and growth, but at this time I will not put long term money into this product aside from occasional mech purchase or MC purchase.

I'm very late to the party ... years ago, when I saw the Founders options for the closed beta, I was without any form of income, and seriously considered borrowing money from friends and family to help this game. I choose to eat instead of play though.

Now, I'm more financialy independent, and I regret not splurging all those years ago ...

Honestly, I'd vastly prefer a MWO game with monthly subscriptions to the current Free To Play model ... F2P means no guaranteed revenue for the developers, meaning no Financial stability and difficulties planning for years in advance due to the fact that they can't know if they'll have enough cash with the macro/micro transactions to actualy pay their employees.

Making new modes, maps, etc mean having programmers, coders, testers and the like and those people want money for their work, as we all do.

I'd gladly pay a monthly subscription on top of the Gift Store purchases to be sure that this game has continued support. I've been doing that for Ultima Online for years, even if I only play on UO once a month on average, because good games need cash to be even better.

Also had 6 accounts on Eve Online, and paid monthly subscriptions for all 6, when I had a good job ... and I only played like 4 hours during the week-ends (6 accounts because my main char, my trader char, 3 mining chars and a hauler char, I was my own little industrial corp).

In short : yes.

PVE and solaris? HECK YE SIGN ME UP!

Seriously why haven't they started a kickstarter for pve or solaris? I'm sure they would rake in enough funds be able to get staff and boom w'ed have those in no time.

No. God no. I bit that apple once with my founder's $$$ and PGI has yet to deliver the game experience they suggested they wanted to make. So, no. I only buy products that are finished.

We crowdfund every time a mech pack comes out, so... no. If there isn't enough cash rolling in from the F2P model, well, that sucks.

Many people play this game F2P and deal with having more Cbills than mechbays.

I would definitely support things like an advancement in timeline or engine upgrade as long as it took the game in a new direction versus just a cosmetic improvement.

The release mechs for money revenue model no longer appeals to me at this stage. I want to spend my money to keep the good people at PGI busy earning it. A major initiative that would be impossible to monetize any other way would be a good reason to do so.

Perhabs HBS will have Quads later in their BT game? Alternatively if you win the lottery, I´m pretty sure if you throw 100k good hard Euros on PGI they will implement them ^^

After the slow assed development of this game, having seen all the great idea's turn into a one dimentional embarrasement,
and having played this since closed beta, not a chance in hell I would crowd fund another project by P.G.I

Crowd funding other projects by other people sure I supported HBS, but only after buying and trying and liking shadow run, which was on sale.

I said after this games glacial development, and the utter failure that Mech warrior tactics was, that I would never crowd fund anything again, that was a reaction to my disgust with I.G.P .

I will crowd fund, but only with people I feel I can trust, or have other products, that are solid and don't carry much negative press.

Dont you know ... you dont crowdfund anything that PGI makes? PGI will be willing to take your money, but later on they will say you were just buying a package.

You don't own anything here....we are all leasing these $85 mech packs that come out every month. Seriously!? Who in their right mind would spend $85 on the SAME game every month, that doesn't really change or get better over time?!

I mean, if I spend $89.99 on the new Hearts of Iron 4: Field Marshall's Edition, I get everything in the game. I have the COMPLETE game and all future DLC. I don't need to spend any other monies on it and it is supposed to be a really GOOD game. Not mediocre, like MWO.

With PGI involved? Not just no..but hell no. They're only marginally better than the LOLCryptic Studios. Cyclops is the last, for me in a long long long time to come I suspect.

Founders still don't have the game laid out to them regarding what MWO would be.

HOA 4 isn't exactly a good comparison as it's not as good as previous versions.

No. I pay real money for the advertised content and expect to get that content. the HBK-GI LE limited edition got an exclusive cheerleader cockpit item as a selling point for buying that particular mech. I expect that verion of the cheerleader cockpit item to remain exclusive to the hbk-gi. That doesn't mean pgi can't change its pose, texturing, and color to make it into a new cheerleader item and sell it. I'd expect them to do just that as it is far easier to use an already made object as a base and save time getting a new item done.

For reference the item and text stating it as exclusive is at the 45 mark.

I often said I would pay BIG Whale-erific Money for PvE.
I still mean that.

But, I don't like buying for things sight unseen.
Mech Packs- If I like the art, then I pay the money. I have a good idea on what I'm getting.

Foundering or Crowdfunding an as yet undeveloped game component is really dicy.
Show me the game component first, then, if I like it, I'll Whale Up for it.
