Call me crazy, but I think that having tier 1 mechs always changing every few months is a good thing in my book. Keeps the competitive game fresh, instead of stagnant.

RL kept me busy for about 3 months. Kinda back now. Glad to be back, and thank you Carl.

Welcome to the magic world of Fantasy MMO games!

If you want to always be at T1, you either grind fast enough or "buy a mechpacktm".

I have done both (grind fast and hard....have every mech sold up to and including the Kodiak), and I am still a Tier 2 "Scrub"....so.....hum....something about how PGI is to blame....something about some other 'reason'. You know what; F all that I am a Scrub* because...

...I push to far
...I push to fast
...I push to often

In short: I die to much.

I know this, and I can't in good faith 'blame' PGI for my hyper-aggressive play style. The only person I have to 'blame' for being a "Scrub" is me.

* The use of "Scrub" is a reflection of my opinion of myself, personally, and NOT a reflection of how I view pilots that are Tier 2. I have much <3 and o7 for any person who plays this game from the 'WORST' Tier 5 to the 'BEST' Tier 1 (We "big stomppy robot" nerds have to stick together).

Try being me; I avoid solo queue like the plaque so I'll be tier 3 forever! Not that it matters, since I don't play qp....lol

You should have a good 8 mechs, at least, for a flexible IS deck. The quirk changes weren't that serious. The real problem is for the newer players building decks; when you're ~150 total drops in MW:O the difference between a good mech and a mediocre one is pretty serious.

If the EBJ got heat generation INCREASED by 5% there would be riots, then everyone would be in HBRs. If it got 5% range reduction, 5% energy generation increase and then got all its hitboxes made bigger and a reduction on its internal structure people would consider it 'garbage tier'. One of those things changing is reasonable, all is a big change.

However the meta moved largely away from energy boats a while ago. That this just came out from PGI now is... indicative. The changes to the assaults are more significant by far, same with the Warhammer. It's a significant reduction on some solid builds. They're far from terribad but it's functionally eliminated anything being a toe to toe match for the SB or KDK3 outside of some real bracket situations.

All that changed what which GHR is the best ERLL boat for heavies and the removal of the BW from being the go-to ballistic heavy for the IS - which essentially leaves no real ballistic heavies for the IS that's a good match for the Clan ballistic heavies outside of a long range sniping setup.

The problem is that the quirk pass and rescale came out independent of GH2 yet seems like it was built around the idea of GH2. Also there is no reasonable expectation of problems in the quirking being fixed for months.

THAT is a bigger issue. I'm a big fan of scaling back quirks and focusing more on weapon balance outright. However this seems like they just instituted 2/3rds of a 3-part rebalance and we're a good month or two away from the other 3rd. That's crap.
