Update 1:

Banshee vs Kodiak vs Mauler vs Battlemaster
Posted Image

Bonus:
Spoiler

Catapult vs Vindicator vs Nova vs Crab vs Adder

Posted Image

Stalker vs Marauder

Resolution is the same for all images meaning that you can open paint or any other image editor, put together, say Locust and Atlas and proportions will be correct.

Will add the rest later. Feel free to request which ones you want to see sooner.

Hitboxes are mapped out according to the ones posted in Hitbox Localization thread by Tamerlin: http://mwomercs.com/...x-localization/

Any changes to the Cicada? What about the other mechs? Need a comprehensive comparison.
Maybe the others were not changed? Curious.

Quick question: where are you getting this from? Did you chart the hitboxes yourself or is this from a compilation of other people's work, or something else?

Hitboxes are from Hitbox Localization thread (thanks for a reminder, should've mentioned it in the main post), Images from the video posted by NGNG.

Thank you.
Not my thread, but at least one!
So I can continue the $h1t storm against PGI.
Volumetric system is so !diotic that lights are going to be completly screwed up.

Pgi is going to pgi, probably: that is a patch over the patch over the patch, trying to cover mistakes with other mistakes.
Sadly it will take MONTHS before lights to have proper quirks.
(because they cannot figure out without month datas: they cannot figure out their own game).

Can I write about PXH here, Censor Derek?

Bigger mechs with bigger hit boxes and still the same alpha firepower creep in place. Thats a great concept to expand the time to kill...

Quit acting like I did something bad to you. I already told you what happened to your thread. And the fact that the Patch notes say the Mechlab camera is not a valid comparison tool, and the Orthos as well.

thats not the size of the catapult compared to other mechs. His sizes there are way off.

I had forgotten to check up on the IIC hitboxes until this point. HGN IIC hitboxes arent that bad, could stand to lose some CT but otherwise it seems ok. It gets quirks on tuesday, maybe they'll help....maybe.

So they are all fake?
So....why does PGI publish them? Are they fantasy pics?

Let's wait until next patch then.....

All that patch notes say is that there is a difference between orthographic viewes posted by PGI and screenshots made in mechlab caused by perspective distortion. Quote:

Quote

Just in case, please note that these silhouettes are captured using an orthographic camera, whereas the Re-Scale comparison images in the above links are taken with the standard MechLab perspective camera. As a result of that difference, scales may appear slightly different if comparing 'Mechs between the two images.

Camera placement is the same as you can see from the background. the only way for anything to be "off" is to have separate 3D models for mechlab and the actual game.

Nah, it's the fov that can distort the 3d model depending on it's wideness and height.

I'm not with the people who think that will make a huge difference but you have to admit that it indeed does affect perception in a way, that these mechs seem wider and taller unless the camera distance matches the fov. Since the camera is that close in the mlab that simply isn't the case so it shouldn't be ignored.

So fov is why we are seeing panthers and firestarters taller than Catapult?
:D :D :D

Wouldn't it make more sense to compare them to mechs of a similar physique?
Like the Centurion? Thin waist, broad shoulders, etc?

It would, Humanoid VS Humanoid

Maybe Nova VS Crab (but there's also differences there)

One of the Catapult attributes is that, adding weapons won't increase geometry (or, minimally) due to the arms. Spladder? He gains arm and (minor) ST size, while this SplatCat should all be contained, in a Bonus Volume sort of way
Similarly for the MadSplat (with removable missile boxes), and an even better comparison both for tonnage and mech shape (but very different arms)

We'll see how it pans out.

Jou, in no way it is possible that FOV screwed up 35 IS tonners.
Pgi screwed them up, not FOV.

poor griffing the CT balls will still kill it.

every mech having so much CT inbetween the legs is a sad fellow. Unlike the black knight who also has CT there able to shield stuff via twisting.
