Has anyone been paying attention to the Quirk changes? Maulers are all losing most of thier good ballistic quirks. The 15% rate of fire quirk was the main decent thing about them, they actually fired at thier "proper" rate of fire...Its what made them miles better at UAC 5 spam than the king crab can ever dream of...and they are being replaced with Energy quirks? ER large laser quirks?

We dont drive Maulers for bloody Laserboating. We have battle masters for that. Why remove the one main selling point of the dammed things?

I don't own and Maulers but I don't understand the change either.

I plan to own Maulers at some point but I just haven't really needed something that can Ballistic boat while I have KGCs and I don't use missiles very often outside of SRMs.

Mauler wasn't so damn good that they really needed any changes to be honest.

They where THE best IS dakka mech. High mounts and the 15% rof ment you could really put down some suppression on anything you hit. Underquirked or unquirked UAC5's fire painfully slow. That mech was perfect where it was.

Why cant we have nice things? WHY?

IF anyone has Twitter and can post this on Russ's account I'd appreciate it. This makes ZERO sense, and of all the things ive seen in this game this one I'd like to bring up before it goes live.

A lot of the 'Mechs getting nerfed weren't really good enough to need a nerf, i.e. Marauder 5D and BJ-1X. How many of either of those do you see running around?

This one really hit me personally as ive tried making Dakka builds for just about any mech that can do it. THis was the only one where It just...CLICKED. its one of my favorite rides when i want to boat some auto canons and these changes just utterly gut it.

They where completely uncalled for. I really dont even know why stuff like the Marauder was touched either, or the blackjacks which are also getting BIGGER this patch and where already incredibly easy to CT core as they where.

Send a courteously worded note to PGI (check out the Support link at the top for appropriate email addresses) with your grievances and criticism.

In the meantime, adapt and overcome.

Wahahahaha, my Dual Gauss + 3xERLL MAL-2P is not affected by the change, and my 6xAC2 MAL-MX90 barely got scratched. The size increase was a bummer though.

The BJ is so much weaker now that they lessened the quirks and with this size growth they'll still be decent for hill humping just even easier to hit before they disappear.

Yeah I used the freaking MX90 for dual gauss and dual AC20s. MEGA RIP....My 1p ran quad Uac5's...RIP.

1R ran 3 Uac5's with a 300 engine and tons of ammo. It wont be able to really supress people anymore. Unquirked Uac5's are just that slow.

UACs are meta.

So are lasers.

So are SRMs.

So are ACs.

Even LBs on certain 'Mechs.

The only weapons that are not meta are LRMs.

And that was my other enjoyment of this mech...it WASNT meta..and you could still have fun with it clobbering some guy in a hail of shells....Guess ill have to jump on the bandwagon and drive nothing but Kodiaks now....

The quad UAC/5 and the 5x AC/5 Mauler were both competitive choice 'Mechs until the Kodiak came out.

Well, everything that sits on "T1" (meks, not people) for some time is expected to be nerfed in one way or another.

The changes for the mauler at least are the equivalent of the Black Knight losing all energy quirks...and getting Missile quirks....

Look at it this way, Bagh. With the size increase of so many mechs, you won't need as many shots to destroy a section of a mech. PGI is basically boosting up your dakka accuracy with this patch.

Id rather have 2E in each of the L and R ST anyway.

Then I could make my own MLR-K9-A "Solid" Mauler.

2 CERPPC in the L/R arm
4 CERML in the L/R Torso
2 CLRM15, 1 1/2t ammo each.
