If you're sure the Jenner will just gather dust once you get a Raven I'd stick to the Atlas. Considering the Raven is one of the already announced battlemechs it'll be there at/shortly after release so you'd switch to a Raven fast enough. Better to get a mech you'll take for a spin when you don't feel like scouting than a mech that will last you a week until your preferred choice comes out.

There is of course also the c-bill part. If the Raven isn't out buying a Jenner is only one third of the c-bills compared to taking the Jenner as founder mech and buying an Atlas when you don't feel like playing the Jenner.

lets face it, well all be playing this game to death and eventually everything will be accessible whether we have to pay for it or not. So try not to strain urself in the process of thinking. Im 100% with you, im going scout with my founders choice, after i upgrade before the 7th.

Also, im pretty sure they will be resetting everything frequently through the Beta periods open and closed. So you really shldnt plan on anything being permanent for a while.

If the Scout role really appeals to you in all that you have heard, I'd go with the Jenner.

I'm a bit of a achievement/collector *****, so upon seeing the "Get all four," well my wallet, nor my girlfriend's vicelike grip upon it, could stop me from buying it.

I bought her a CE of Guild Wars 2, so I'm fairly certain she's forgotten about it.

It really comes down to what you are going to play the most.. if you can't afford the extra $60 (and some people can't.. that's fine).. The Atlas will cost more C-bills to buy so if you're even considering buying the Atlas at all.. then you should pick the Atlas as the starting mech in my opinion. Even if you're not going to play it as much.... if you are going to buy it.. get it as the founder mech and save your MC and/or C-bills for other mechs. If you don't have any intention of piloting the Atlas.. it's a no-brainer.. don't get that as the founder.. keep doing this process as you go through the founders mechs from big to small. If you are genuinely only ever going to pilot light and mediums.. get the hunchback (unless you hate the hunch).. for the same reason.. and so on.

-------

As for the "you get 4 extra garage slots" stuff.. uhm no.. that's not how it works.

You get a certain amount of "empty" garage slots (let's say 4.. but it could be 2.. or 3.. or 6..).. by getting the Legendary pack you are not getting EXTRA slots.. you are just not using the free slots with your founder mech(s).

I just went with what I'd want to pilot. Chose the Hunchback because nothing else really spoke to me. I know that I won't want to sit back and lob missiles or *Pew Pew* at them from range. I wanted something that could get in, do some damage and GTFO before things got too heavy.

I almost went with the Atlas for the exact same reason that you stated though.
