Clan Jade Falcon Touman Vessel "Emerald Glory"
*** Prior System, Nadir Jumppoint, Jade Falcon Occupation Zone
A subtle alert ran through the ship. Three more vessels were aproaching from starboard.
TechCaste crewman hastily prepared the docking maneuvers necessary to welcome back the drop ships.
Star Colonel Grigori Mattlov already gave orders for the flotilla to prepare for departure.
He hoped that it would not be necessary to come back to this system again.
With the transition to their next assignment concluded the Star Colonel enjoyed a Fusionaire in his quarters and paid a mental salute to those fallen in duty.

Funnily the first half of that planet's name gets auto censored.

Bonus points if it incorporates the intro from the JF re education hologram used in that cheesy cartoon.

The room snapped to, as General Aylward walked into the room. He stopped, turned to the face the group and paused, looking from pilot to pilot. His glance was returned evenly, every pilot steadily met his gaze, though some nodded to acknowledge his attention.
When I was in the Army, had anybody moved anything other than their eyes when at attention in front of a general, he would soon be on a much closer and much worse relationship with the CSGM and his company 1SGT.

Parade rest if of a different position then at ease. Parage rest while seeming to be more relaxed, is actually just a different style of attention. The two are completely separate commands.

Ten hut, is not, nor has it ever been a military command. It was made up by authors and movie script writers when they thought that was they heard when listening to a drill sergeant or other sergeant yelling Attention in a loud and fast manner.
Other than those obvious mistakes, nice story. Doubt it playing out well for you all though.

Once the event is gone and LT takes its rightful place back in the basement where it belongs the real action will renew I'm sure.
Let the fun begin again on the 7/7.

Hanover Fist has been recovering on a Lyran Hospital ship after the news outpost he was reporting from came under fire from overzealous Jade Falcon Long Tom batteries, one shell coming within one km of the news station he was in on *** Prior during an overnight assault/pugstomp where organized fedcom resistance wasnt present.... FSN assets have been pulled back from the front lines until Comstar's Operation Fish in a Barrel...err I mean Longtommageddon...no wait..."FrontLine", concludes... Although word just in, that event has now been extended another week, which i think allows ample time for JF and it's merc wave to reach Terra again based on the algorithm's current trajectory and number of planets they can roll every 24 hrs.....So chances are good Hanover's next broadcast may be from back in Davion space, if he survives... The message was lost in this other puggle event anyway.
Meanwhile, the Operation Galahad intitiative continues to mount what resistance it can in the face of overwhelming numbers on the steiner front.. If virtually every merc unit in the game hadn't gone Jade Falcon for this "event", it might have been a little more of a balanced fight.. but as it is, 3x the numbers and longtom rolling on planets within 45-60 mins of a cycle restart 3x a day.. Attack planet hits 100 % within a couple hours, its abandoned like a nuclear blast site cuz noone wants to bring a planet down from 100 with 15 tactical nukes a match falling on their heads, and hundreds are free to then sit in the defense queues on the other fronts and overwhelm most resistance with sheer numbers and "non"drops behind the live ones.. Lather, rinse, repeat every 8 hrs...
Hopefully the Jade Falcons and all the mercs riding this wave are enjoying themselves immensely.. cuz life kinda sucks in this game for just about everyone else that wants to play faction warfare right now. sure there's still a few companies of us diehards still sitting there in front of you every night to give you a break from pugstomping once in a while as we attempt to briefly take one planet back, slowing you down enough to have to spend overnight longtom/pugstomping it back instead of taking a new one as your 3rd in 24 hrs, hell, we even broke loyalty with the only faction we've EVER been part of to come up here and do it... but the population around you continues to check out and/or leave the game in waves..
Makes many wonder... Don't you all get tired of just ruining disorganized solos/pugs all day long ?? Using them up like wet paper towels day in and day out.. Doesn't it bother you to know you are driving people away from this game in large numbers by this combination of pug seal clubbing and long tom nuke raining that has defined this entire campaign ?? Whether the game and its poor design makes it possible or not.. And then worse, the merc units all jump to that side to ride the wave in ??
By the time you get to Terra this time, the map may be empty.
Will it be worth it ??

However this completely puts to bed all the "we just east good fights" arguments though. Pretty clearly not the case. When someone says "all mercs do is stomp pugs" the correct response is "yeah, absolutely. Their preference would be to have you fed down a chute single file, under a rain of long toms, into their firing line."
Teasing aside though.... yeah. That myth is pretty debunked. Mercs generally go where they're likely to win and the bonus payout thing has no real impact on who plays where.

which is why you need to limit available contracts, the bonus system does nothing for player balance.

In our in-game unit we have a CSGM and company level SGM (and SGT), so I used what we have, but your point is well taken.
Yes, parade rest is a different command. But in front a general you never went "at ease", you went to parade rest because... you weren't a *****.
You are right, Ten Hut is not a command, I was referring to the phonetic sound the command makes when using ones diaphragm to get the sound to carry. So, per your story, I suppose writers might have thought that. However, you only give the command "attention" and say it like that, if you want to sound like a *****.
But thanks.

You would think after the sacking the mercs and JF would turn on each other... but I suppose there would need to be actual booty at stake.
