Has anyone had any luck getting the G13 to actually function in MWO controls?

I have all my keys mapped, and it works in everything but MWO. Seems like the game just isn't recognizing it at all.

Suggestions/help much appreciated!

Suggest mapping the G13 to key-commands through the Logitech Utility. Then it works with every game, no problems !

Yup, good news. Downloaded the most recent Logitech Gaming Software (v.8.30.86) and edited/saved the controls in that instead of just the normal key-mapping software/profiler that comes with the G13... Works perfectly now, with Default or dedicated MWO profile.

To the OP: why would you burn up to 60 bucks on something you've already laying in front of you? In fact any PC user has it laying in front of them self!

By getting used to "WASD" controls (even uncommon for a mech game - I had to get used to them myself) you have easy access to 13+ keys at any given time. Don't see a point how those keypads are any better than the regular keyboard (given the fact that you have a keyboard where you can press more than 2 button at one time - mine is about 12 years old now and can easily do it - and I didn't had to pay 120ish bucks like for the current garbage "gamer products" of certain manufacturers).

That's a relief then - now to see if I win it or not ;)

I just bought a new keyboard with anti-ghosting to address one particular concern but given it's a relatively contemporary Logitech I've actually got far more than 13 keys within easy reach and I'm still considering a Gamepad.

Perhaps it's a halfway house between the immersion of a full HOTAS system and the practicality of your standard KB+M layout or perhaps it's just one of these little peripherals that some people find comfortable. With the case of the G13 being able to program a fisfull of macros alongside a joystick is a personal, if totally subjective choice that would be entirely alien to some whilst conversely incredibly useful for others. The added G keys definitely made my Wow days a lot more enjoyable.....

If I hate it, I'll sell it but having never tried it I won't presume to knock it ;)

Personally, for me it's for a lot of similar reasons that DoctorJest touched on.

Although a full joystick/throttle system is optimal for immersion, it really isn't for truly precise control. A regular keyboard can work just fine, but it isn't really very immersive or 100% intuitive for cockpit controls. The gamepad-keyboard and mini-joystick let me have a little bit of a more ergonomic and a little of that "cockpit" feel when I'm sitting down to play.
