It's so god damn typical of PGI to RUIN otherwise great looking mechs with their absolutely moronic decisions regarding the "dynamic weapon geometry".
Whoever made that decision belongs in a circus along with Russ.

I thought this thread would make me laugh...
Until i realized you guys were serious.
Some people here should take a small break, think about themselves and how they're acting. Take some vacations, idk, or just do something else.
PS: (on a second thought, i remember the head-of-the-Enforcer crisis, so i should know better)

I also would love for the second hard point on the PXH's to go into the fore arm for the right arm, it looks better, otherwise you just have this bulge there that catches fire and looks rather, weird. If the laser mount in the arm didn't exist if you didn't have a weapon there it would feel better, but, I do greatly prefer to have weapon 2 in the forearm. This also helps with if you have a single energy weapon in the left arm as now both are at the same level making it easier to aim. Plus having a ML barrel next to a PPC barrel just looks weird on the 1B.
So really it both helps sell the look of the Phoenix Hawk (plus the concept at for MWO's PXH reflected this) and makes it much more consistent. Plus if people are running 3 energy weapons in each arm you will get the sawed off double barrel shotgun look and a laser in the forearm. Yes this is more or less a minor thing, but, it really does help the look and feel of the mech. Hell if you put a ballistic that isn't a MG in the Right Arm it goes into the forearm mount which looks weird if the left arm has a ballistic bigger than a MG in it because that gets a proper pistol for it.

Weirdly an AC2 looks exactly like the MG mount whereas a bigger AC goes in the forearm mount. Weird but you can deal with it.
But forenergy all weapons the priority should be:
RA: pistol 1st, bracer 2nd, pistol 3rd
LA: bracer 1st, pistol 2nd, pistol 3rd
Which accomplishes the classic appearance but also allows for the double barrel
Question: is the order different for different versions?
But for
RA: pistol 1st, bracer 2nd, pistol 3rd
LA: bracer 1st, pistol 2nd, pistol 3rd
Which accomplishes the classic appearance but also allows for the double barrel

I was hoping this change was going to be made before the release of this patch, but I was disappointed to find in the 'mech lab that it hasn't.
Please make it so that the Phoenix Hawk has a single-barrel pistol with the second energy hardpoint going to the forearm, and any third energy hardpoint added as a second pistol barrel.
The reasons for this is the lore and aesthetics. All original depictions of the Phoenix Hawk have the secondary laser weapons located in the forearms, and its even mentioned as such in official BattleTech fiction. Even the concept art for the 'mech when it was first announced for MWO shows a single pistol barrel!
Also, the 'mech's arms look sloppy and more asymmetrical than they should be with only one forearm mounting a secondary energy weapon.
Here are some pictures:
And of course the MWO concept art...

Beware to ask something to PGI.
They can screw up PXH even more by adding hardpoints below the hand....a la Panther.
Not enough with 1diot1c rof MG quirks?

After spending some time with the PXH, I like the "guns" the way they are.

YMMV.
The best option would be a hardpoint system that lets us put guns on the hardpoint we want.
Failing that, it would be nice if they'd at least stick close to canon.

Totally agree with this. If we could choose hardpoint placement, this whole thing would be a nonissue.
But I have a feeling that right now it would be much easier to change the hardpoint placement code on the Phoenix Hawk than it would be to code the UI to make this possible for all 'mechs.
