Sad but true. Sadder is the fact that the new maps arent just 'new' but they also get more and more messy, harder on system resources, etc. More and more junk gets into them which is a sad thing.

Even more sad is that PGI is not the only game developer that gets turned on by 'revamping' old crap, instead of developing new systems, maps and mechs.

Its a game-developer wide plague if you ask me, i guess its easier.

The new maps are certainly prettier, but that doesn't often translate to better gameplay. Some of my favorite maps from my CS:S days were these simple, blocky, brightly colored 'virtual' arenas. I would fully support "mech training sim" maps.

Nooo, nobody liked the old FrozenCity and FrozenCity Night !

But the new Frozen City is great !

Perfect map design, and great for the new Kodiak Spirit Bear with his 4 x SRM6 setup !
You can hit the enemy really hard with it - so just spend a few dollars and buy it.

I think I would go blind playing that map.

With the Voting Players will !allways! vote for a selected few maps!

It does not matter how many maps you offer and how good these maps be made...a selected few will be chosen and "fun" is !not! they keyfactor here!

Sucess, Peer Pressure and stuff like that decides the votes...

Atm HPG and Canyon be most popular...

Tourmaline gives most often great matches but its only taken when a troll has enough trollvotes stacked up or HPG+Canyon be unavailable and there is a little chance votes spread enough to make Torumaline happen...and even then you usualy need stacked up votes.

Voting ended map/mode variety and started map/mode dominance!
