HI Crimson,

seeing as you just bought a BLR-1G I will set up a series of links below that will show a progression of upgrades I would do to the mech.

BLR-1G <--First upgrade to Double Heat Sinks (DHS)

BLR-1G <-- Second upgrade, Endo Steel and a 360 standard engine. You can sell the 340 to offset the cost of the 360 series.

BLR-1G <-- Final version, this build while less than optimal, is still extremely survivable due to the standard engine, as well as playing to the quirks of the chassis.

Yup, I think this 'mech might actually respond well to a "superstock" treatment, keeping those well-quirked ML's and the SRM launcher which synergizes well with the ML's. I'd do something very similar as Metus regem above, maybe just keep the PPC (or ER-PPC) in the arm, for shooting down UAV's and for cases where your team simply won't close in. This is easily achieved by taking the engine down to STD-350: BLR-1G

You are very welcome Crimson, the advantage of what I posted, is that you can do it all in stages, and gives you an idea of how to go about it. The other thing I would suggest is adjust armour locations to your preference.

I equipped mine with an XL390 and it's really another mech.

I have been known to run my TrollmasterPosted Image

Yes I know it's bad, but it is really funny, when people pop the ST expecting you to die and you don't, it usually buys you a second or two to finish them as they are in shock.

Your own, you will develop your own play-style over time. What I did was show you one idea that builds to the strengths of the mech, and will help you learn how to run it effectively, my BLR-1G has been tweaked for my preferences, as I am very comfortable with auto cannons.

In the list I gave you, it was a progressive change from the basic unit, going through upgrades over time, as C-bills allow. As I know not everyone has hundreds of millions of c-bills sitting in their banks.

I use the BLR-1G with STD 340, 6 MLs and 2 AC/2s, gives you long range and screen shake plus i just like ACs.
Only downside is a little low on ammo for the ACs, switch out the AMS and ammo for 1 more DHS and another half ton of AC ammo.

Edited: Nice build Metus

It's got punch, and I run it like an over sized Centurion, so it's actually rather nasty.

My own 1G is 15 DHS, 350XL engine, Endo Steel, 512 points of armor. The mech is quirked towards medium lasers and the majority of the energy mounts are high in the side torsos, but it also has missile and ballistic quirkage. I use 6 Medium lasers, 1 TAG laser, 1 LRM10 w/artemis, beagle probe, command console, AMS and a pair of AC2s. Its a very balanced mix of weapons and you end up with a radar range of up to 1248 meters with advanced sensor range module fitted. There's 4 tons of AC ammo, 2.5 tons of LRMs and 1 ton of AMS ammo. Every critical space slot is occupied. I usually run an LRM10 range module and AC2 range modules for the weapon modules, and advanced zoom and advanced sensors for mech modules.
