I guess I don't get why a 35-tonner shouldn't feel "almost" like a medium when that's precisely what it is. It's 7/8th of the weight of a light-end medium, and almost twice as heavy as a light-end light.

I get that there are game-balance considerations, but most of the 35-tonners were too small.

It is like people dont even realize that a lot of mechs are only a few tons away from being attributed to a different weight class.

In terms of size, the lower brackets of each category seem to contain the best mechs.

Factoring the quirks in, the Cicadas are now by far the best "lights" imo.

Like Grasshopper is 30 tons away from being attributed to a 100 ton Atlas? Keep going, I'm having a good laugh reading all this white knight bullshіt.

Grasshopper is like one of the few mechs where I miss my projectiles under his armpits and legs. While Atlas is a mech where every enemy has almost 100% accuracy rate shooting it.

you compare a skeleton to a barndoor.

You have no sense of perception.

Maybe start thinking in terms of lights were already the worst performing and least played weight class and don't need any nerfs whatsoever?

I'm hardly someone to speak about these things but you seem to be forgetting someone.
Commando was a mech that had no reason to exist as long as Raven and Jenner went just as fast as it did, had a smaller profile and packed more guns for their tonnage.

Intra-light balance is a thing and it was pretty much completely take 35 tons or don't bother at all. Exception being the Spider but that was popular because it exaggerated the horrendous netcode that made it nigh-invincible, not because it was any good compared to the 35s.

I know that TF2 gameplay mechanics offer far greater diversity between the classes than MWO that's why I'd say it's even more important not to make one class 'feel' like the other. It gives no incentive to play the different classes when they all feel the same but one can take 60+ alpha's and many tons more armor.

So...lights are supposed to scout and not fight...

But than we get events that reward you for KMDD or getting a certain score which is likely only achievable in a loss if you inflicted somewhere close to 300 dmg to the other team. Scout? Pfft...good luck getting the 150 points.

Tell me again about roles...

Yeah I really do not understand the change in the archetype.... I really don't

Because the Jenner was an absolute terror four years ago, and despite improvements to the netcode and it having been largely replaced by the Firestarter, Wolfhound, and Arctic Cheatah over time Russ is probably still convinced its secretly OP?

It's not just that. We're playing a game where you have 1 mech and 1 life. You can't expect someone to "scout" while you do all the fun stuff.

A lot of the 35t now feel very "spongy" when you try to evade fire. The worst is the Jenner IIC.

Let's kill brawling totally and make pee-a-boo warrior online

no they are not, they are now light mechs at the 5t edge to medium mechs. as much as a circada was a medium mehc witha 5edge to lights.

Why? Serious question.

From my perspective the gameplay is built around four classes light, medium, heavy, assault. Tonnage affects how much you can carry but should it make two Mech's in the same class feel like they don't belong to the same class? I'd say no but that's my opinion.

what makes you think so? after the 4-4-4-4 rule was disabled there is no such thinking needed. ther eis just mechs goign from 20t to 100t on steps of 5 thats all. 4-4-4-4 sucked because lower tonnage mechs of their categories were always shafted to be bad, and now with the changes ther eis a smooth transition between 20t and 100t.

but if you have an opinion and a crusade to be done, then you have to use fake facts instead of real facts. If objectivity doesn't fits your opinions try to fool the uninformed. Thats a common political tactic.

if you think that the grasshopper ad the atlas are comparable by their target surface they offer, then pls get an eye check.

STOP PUTTING REALITY IN A VIDEOGAME.
IT IS DUMB.

but this "reality" is needed becasue form a shooter point of view exactly this missing "reality" was the reason why speed + armor + soze differences were creatign balance issues. Armro is not entirely changable, because Lore. Speed is not entirely changeable, because lore, shape neither as well, because lore. So soze is the only adjustable thing and what was doen is nore just more correctly fluent than what we had before. It's good but hurts some people who relied on that advantages given by these indiferecnes that should have never existed from beginning - and therefor never caused cry outs because of that form the beginning.
