Was talking to Smoky about Li Song's Mechlab today. It's a standalone mechlab simulator. And a conversation came up when I mentioned how PGI should just hire Mektek guys, why not purchase/work with Li Song and make that simulator a mobile app?
Like, the program just requires a few tweaks and it's ready to launch across platforms such as android and IOS. If PGI can get behind this and make this with actual game integration...
(like what you create on the road during boring family dinner can now be uploaded unto PGI server that will show up when you open the actual game)
Mechlab on the go! How cool would that be?
But, why stop there? There are numerous FPS simulator out on APP already. Doesn't have to be real time against real players (most mobile app that boast they are, aren't anyways). Make like a series of simulated missions where you can try out the build that you just build.
Mission 1: Destroy beacons.
Mission 2: Destroy tanks
etc etc
Obviously, the graphics and complexity does not (and can't be) as complicated as the real game, so more like mechassault in nature, but yea.. I know a few games that I've seen from my cousin's phone that's essentially the same thing, just replace soldiers and guns with mechs and lasers.
This is totally doable... and immediately, you are essentially a huge fish in a small pound. Most mobile developers aren't big names, so to have an established title is like entering a ringer in an amateur arena that will resonate with a lot of fans (with clever advertising of course) Some companies are moving in (or moved) into the territory already, such as Blizzard. However, no game company has been doing a cross platform integration, and this game, could be the first.
(like a super version of WiiU)
I mean, would you play/download this? I would totally do it!
Imagine, they get someone like... I dunno... Gerald Butler, hardcore badass... in a commercial piloting an Atlas. "THIS IS... MECHWARRIOR!"
BAM! We got a winner!
First step, PGI, hire Li Song and acquire Mektek studio (since they are already established and ready to go) to work on the cross platform launch. If you can make this into a reality, we will hype this across all social platform for you. You think 800 players a day is sad? Try 800,000. Let's make it happen!

Mektek should be required to stay 200 meters away from MWO at all times lest we're looking to hypercharge powercreep.
(Mektek sucks
)
Plus we already have a mobile MWO game. Simply log onto the forums with your phone for endless entertainment.

Last time we got a Battletech iOS game, the results were pretty awful.

Does beg the question, why not have a mobile app for Mechlab? You can build and sort through your garage on your phone. Perhaps even chat through a global client if that ever becomes a reality.
I mean there's so much more they could do. Why are we fighting over beacons anyway? Shouldn't we be fighting over the cargo ship in Forest colony or the palace in River City? These bases/beacons/caps are artificial enough to pull me out of the game. I want immersion. Okay rant off.

There is a Big Stompy Robot game on both iOS and Android already. It's been out since at least 2014. Walking War Robots: http://pixonic.com/news/games/

Are you guys talking about Mechwarrior: Tactical Command? Confused...
Also Alistair, that looks awesome. It's like a Pokemon version of Mechwarrior. Is that a real thing?
No, it's just a mock-up I did. My suggestion was that we should have a mini-game to play while waiting for a match in MWO.

There's already a mobile mechlab for phones; nice try, though it's smurfy related and is not linked to your actual in-game profile.
