I Love The Shadow Cat

For how bad the damage per second and alpha strike and even the cooling look on paper, the movement more than makes up for it. On Canyon Network I've found it to be my favorite mech, the hills are perfect for jumping over, using as cover for poptarting, or peeking from. Other mechs simply cannot keep up there. Components fly off all through the match and I end up killing half the enemy team, most of them most damage dealts, and I never miss a beat with the running, jumping, and dodging. Since I have the Invasion variant its also a money printer, over 400k cbills a match.
Its even getting smaller next match.
So has anyone else been having fun with the Shadow Cat and playing it to its potential? If you don't have it yet and want to try something new I'd recommend buying it, its definitely a fun mech if anything.

I did run it for quite awhile actually, was kinda fun, but I found often that I could only get 2 shots off at a time, way too hot for me, especially since I find myself nearly overheating in the dual LPL version already. I'd love some normal PPCs just so I could get PPCs without all the heat.
Gauss is also nice, though ammo becomes an issue.

But, ya know, I am a Nova Cat. I might be biased towards the Shadow Cat and Huntsman.

Well you are in luck, neither of those two 'Mechs is easy-mode.

...and it isn't like the Shadow Cat was ever particularly dangerous, given other Clan options out there. EBJ, OTOH, has always been threatening. You should try the Shadow Cat. One Clan mech I think even you can't find overpowered.

I've thought about ditching ECM for more gauss ammo on occasion but I always come back to just 2 tons.
Also 2 LL + 1 ML using the quirked arms for duration reduction is fun too. Even 3 LL is useful sometimes, but I end up back to gauss/ml or 2lpl eventually.

Personally, I flat-out refuse to drive my EBJs to mastery simply because they are terrible at tanking and terrible at pushing and I can't rely on team mates to screen for me while I cool-off.

HATE this mech when positionally aware (read sneaky #$^@*&*^'s!) opposition pilots find spots to back-stab you with it and then hide before you see where they are - sometimes leaving you wondering if your own team is repeatedly shooting you in the back and, or being far enough away that ECM makes it harder to let your teammates know exactly where they are.

However if you're not going to push MASC to the brink the entire game. Don't bother piloting it.
I've seen people use voice commands to activate MASC... these people hurt my soul.

You're not wrong, but you're missing out. They can be quite versatile and effective in their loadouts, but I suppose that doesn't prevent their characteristic of being a bit glass cannon-y.

That's the fun part, gets boring to pilot the mechs that you just point and click in.

Still do, over a second of exposure is a long time, with rather poor heat characteristics
At least he has range

Still waiting for that IS level quirk pass to hit the Shadow Cat, -50% duration and -30% heat gen with about +50 CT structure oughta do it, right? I can dream.

20% duration would be golden
He can get 5% ER right now, can't he?

Yeah, would be nice if it could get something more substantial, seriously though, the MASC buff was nice, but I think PGI has used that as a reason not to buff anything else on it.

SHC doesn't need any extra structure, it tanks better than a Blackjack.
