[Puerto Rock Punisher]

So 85+ games in and the even is over. I wasn't even able to get my grand item, cause the rolls were such crap. So pissed right now, I spent all that time playing just to get screwed.
Thanks PGI for wasting my time with crap consumables....

The anger I feel right now is palpable......

Imagine how I felt a few months ago, when the grand prize was a MECH, and I couldn't play because of internet connection issues holding my ping over 1000 ms.

That wasn't PGI's fault.

What, one time use consumables, I don't even use those...Oh I also got the car deck, the worst standing item in game, and less than a million cbills, and 2 days premium time (don't care for this)......All rolls were basically useless stuff....
Its funny tho, read that there was people who got it on the second roll.......(Such Bull)

welcome to world of random chance. Grab bag events are all about how lucky you are. oh sure you have to play well enough to qualify but after that it is just random chance. a throw back, if you will, to the old dark days of TT Battletech. were little 6 sided die would go cold and your carefully executed flank gets wrecked cause for some reason you keep rolling 4s,5s,and 6s. lots of 6s but the other guy is rolling 1s and 2s. random chance is like that some days...

Don't get me wrong, I love that they do events like this...What has me fuming is that I got screwed with the rolls, and spent so much time when others got the best stuff for a fraction of what I played...
Also yes I understand its a randomizer system but WTF. PGI needs to go back and take a look at their roll system cause as is, its a useless mess....

Some folks get lucky, some aint.

I did VERY well with this one. Enough MC to get 3 bays and the grand prize.
The last one I didnt get crap.

Actually, there were people who got it on their first roll - but that's how random rolls work. In short, you've not been harmed, I guarantee that you got more than consumables, your frustration is driven by envy rather than any real injury to yourself, and nowhere in this post is a new player asking for help.

So just counted what I got out of 64 valid matches:

3 days prem
2 warhorns
5 strikes
3 coolant
1 UAV
5 Cockpit items
4100 GXP
270 MC
2.187.500 cbills

And no grand prize, but I didn't get it the last times either, maybe just bad luck. However I like that I "only" got 9 consumables, those are really useless prizes, can't even sell those coolshots.
But overall a nice event, even got a UrbanMech warhorn

Something that always produces predictable results: the next time you have two friends nearby, give one of them $1, and tell them it's just because you felt charitable. Then turn directly to the second friend, give that person $5, and tell them the same thing. Without fail, friend #1 will look confused and/or angry. But why should he? He just gained a free dollar, through charity and with no effort on his part. The only reason he goes from being grateful to being resentful is because someone else got more.

You're being like friend #1. Take another look at all the stuff you did get, without paying anything and without being promised anything you weren't given. I thought about making one of these threads myself once the event ended because I missed the grand prize too with 94 loot bags opened. Then I realized I was just being entitled (not to mention I easily could have played a bit more, I just didn't want to deal with that garbage minimap). Nobody slighted me or you. Move on.

Do we have any numbers on how likely it is to get the Grand Prize?
But if we just guess that there's a 1 in 100 chance to get the big prize you have only about 42% chance to get it on 85 tries.

No. You played all that time to have fun in Mechs (and you got some free stuff to boot, yah!). If you're not playing for fun then why are you playing? To grind/earn items for a game you don't like?

I didn't get the grand prize either, but that's ok. I could have played more to increase my chances but there were other things to do that were more fun.
