Would it be cool to have co-pilots?

It would make it easy to train new people, and would be down right interesting.

They could control coolant and modules, regulate ecm, control override, communicate with team on your behalf, call targets for you, watch minimap, and help you coordinate.

Is this interesting or a no no?

Make it like Soviet WW2 tanks. 11 crew members. One guy on coolant flush, one guy on the minimap, one guy on VOIP, one guy on torso weapons, one guy controlling the torso, one guy controlling the legs...

No. We do not need a sega genesis/snes mode where controller one always fires weapons and second controller always controls the legs/moves the mech that direction. Obi Wan didn't prosess Dak in the back of luke's snow speeder to fire the tow cable to bring down the at-at on hoth.

But Yoda did sit on Luke's back in the Dagobah system. So... your argument is flawed.

It is a cool concept in general, but I don't think it would work well in a game focused around quickplay.

Two words. COMMAND CONSOLE. Well truthfully DC for Double Cockpit but that's what we can have.

Ok, well is it possible to bring a spectator into a match that is not a private one?

Not really. Yoda was in spectator mode, and as always was busting balls of the guy actually running around doing stuff ("there is no Try" crap....just like dead guys in match chat lol).

Looks like Luke is passing on the backseat jedi driver tradition too.

That would be cool. Maybe have giant battlemechs like the omega. One guy to control the weapons, another to control the movement.

I just read a long thread on why 5th gen fighters don't have 2 seats. Literally all of the reasons why we would have 2 pilots have been solved by sensor fusion and better technology.

If anything, Missile control would be given to the second pilot. I saw Shavaxi give his cousin control of his missiles in MW3. It was cool. You can do a helmet-cued launch system for SSRM and LRM at least.

I disagree in the use of the word "literally" in this context. There is a cost and benefit associated with single seats and 2 man crews.

Yeah the cost of a heavier plane for something that WILL be replaced by an RPA operator as the "second pilot" in the next decade. F35s don't even need a second head; the DAS sensors can give the full view.

It's an outmoded idea, for the same reason why we don't need to equip C3 computers to share target data.
