I don't think I need to elaborate any further.
Nice mini map (post hot fix) and new icons. Icon by weight class is pretty awesome. But please, keybinds.

Also, those like me with 17 button mice and only 6 weapon groups would appreciate this Posted Image

At first i thought the same thing, but i dont want spotting like in the later Battlefield where everyone spot everything the second they see it. Im getting used to use the comorose in mwo right now and spotting is getting easier. It's nice that the the spotted stays after some times and move with the target, maybe it could stick longer to make spoting more target more alluring. Id rather have spotting harder but be more usefull than just mashing Q like in BF3.4.

They could remove the cursor and make it highlighted directional, with a quick tap of E = enemy spotted. I think this would make commands much faster.

Here is what it looks like in Insurgency, which uses the method I just described. Essentially after you get used to the position of the commands, you press E, fling your mouse, release E, and you most often use the right command. This is much faster than precisely moving your cursors in the middle of the match to click on the box trying not to under/over travel.

Ability to make dedicated bindings for each command should exist along side an improved command wheel, in my opinion. This would give players the most flexibility, as they could use the Comm wheel for less used commands and bind the ones they need to use more often.

I haven't played Battlefield so I can't relate. Spamming the wheel is another issue entirely... Just had a match where one guy hit HELP the whole match. Turns out muting doesn't help. Reported him for being an annoying **** lol
Spotted target sticking longer would be nice
I was drinking playing this evening and tried taking Command to use the new buttons. Maybe it takes some getting used to but I felt defenseless bringing up the wheel and find the right button to hit. Every time i did I took return fire and had to back off.
I was having MW3 flashbacks to how your Lance commands were bound to F1 - F9 and it felt much more fluid just looking at something and tapping a key rather than losing control of your mech for 2 seconds

Why do we have that wheel in a PC game at the first place?? Is MWO being ported on Xbox? Did I miss something?

Tribes got it perfect, dozens of messages with few quick key sequences started by "V". It could be easily added to the current MWO wheel:

ET = thanks
EA = affermative
EN = negative
EE = enemy spotted (basically double tapping, very fast and effective)

and so on

Additional voice packs for MCs would be great too, multiple languages would also be an idea, I love the feature and would like to see it to be made even greater.

seriously, every game should just steal tribes' implementation; stop trying to reinvent the wheel

I wanted to ask if someone where knows Tribes2 and its awesome voice binds.
Then I saw this.
VGS!

edit:

For all those living in nescience so far:

Tribes2 had a hierarchical keybind system of predefined commands.
VGY = voice -> global -> yes
VGS = voice -> global -> shazbot!

With this concept, you can theoretically bind hundreds of arbitrary complex predefined voice-messages into a tiny keybind sequence of just 3-4 keys.
(edit: more like tens of thousands: 36*36*36. Stupid me.)

All those funny and clumsy graphical mouse-based approaches will never even come close to its efficiency in speed and/or extent.

Aand it even had different voices to choose from so that you had some limited form of indivuality. A badass, a psycho, etc.

edit2:
Tribes 2 is 15 years old and performance-wise, the voice bind concept would work on a gameboy.

I'd say, the best system is OFP/ArmA one, where commander can pick any selection of soldiers using F1-F12 keys and give them an order using 1-0 keys or mouseclick a marker on map/object/surface.

https://youtu.be/0x4oqV37EuY?t=142

But yeah, it's rather complicated, so the Tribes' system should be the best option.

As much as i love Tribes and Tribes2, the voice system was just that, a chitchat voice system. The ComoRose of Battlefield, especially 2142, was a command wheel that was linked to your HUD and teammates and not used to chitchat and spam shazbot but rather put visual command/queue on your teammate HUD and the map or ask the Commander for supply/arty/etc. We are certainly not there yet but it has more potential than the system of T2 who used "shazbot" "need a pilot" and "need a gunner" and nothing else.

One of the problem is that the game is really fast paced now on top of being short lived so theres not that much place/time for tactical commands. Everybody can throw uav and arty which pretty much negates the use of a Commander. The fact that it is on a random matchmaker rather than server also means we can't really have a commander because the team are randomized every 10minutes. Still, at least it's there and the spoting command is usefull now as it keep the spoted target on the map for some time.

What is the point of the commands anyway? Nobody acts on them. How are they superior to just saying "Target Kilo"? Or all muster at golf 4? Seems like a waste of space really.

that's kind of the problem with the current setup; a context-free 'help!' doesn't really tell me anything. The only command that's truly useful is the enemy spotting one, and I guess affirmative/negative are useful if you don't feel like talking on your mic.
