Looking for some suggesttions on a heavy ballistic Dire Wolf build as I don't have the funds to try all of these myself. I was thinking one of the following:

6 LB5
6 UAC5
4 UAC10
4 LB10
2 LB20 + 2 LB10

4 uac10 is too hot.

not worth it atm, quad uac10 can dip out 80 points, quad lbx only 40.
either go 5-6 UAC5 or 4 UAC10 or 3 UAC10 / 4 UAC5 with laser backup.

Anyone else have advice? I'd like a range of opinions.

5UAC5 + (3/4) ERMED lasers is MEAN. Takes a good time to overheat. Superb range and DPS. Once you start heating up with the mediums, you can fall back on the really low heat UAC/5s. Definitely a great pick.

4UAC10 has a good bit less range, but you really shouldn't be running backup weapons with this, since they're rather hot on their own. Its virtue is the big alpha if you don't jam.

2UAC10 3UAC5 is the "best" dakka loadout, bar none. There's a build for this on the metamechs page. Absolutely brutal chainsaw of a mech. It's harder to lead with this, but upclose, no mech can even think of ignoring you for half a second, since you'll have finished removing a side torso. Or two. Again, a great pick

6 UAC/LBX is ok, but is not as good as the above.

4LBX10 with 4ERSML or similar backup weapon is a really strong CQ mech, but it's not that great at that magical DWF engagement range of 400-600 m where you can tear mechs apart before they can start shooting back.

My preferred CQ DWF(ves?) were a 3LBX10 6SPL build (atrocious range) and 3UAC10 3SRM6 (again, atrocious range). I would most definitely not recommend that you run these. The moment you run into anything dedicated close range, you get wrecked.

I'm currently having pretty good success with the following build: 4x UAC5 & 5x ML
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9a7adb70dc137d7

Most mechs run for cover as soon as they start getting hit with UAC fire. Set the UACs for chain fire and you can lay down a nonstop barrage without overheating. Even on hot maps.

I give you the Dire Turret!

How does 6 AC2s sound? It's not like you're going anywhere, what with your staggering top speed of 52 KPH (if you're tweaked) so you might as well pick a weapon with some range.

(note this build is pure troll)

Unfortunately, those AC2s just run way too hot for their piddly damage. :(

If they ran cooler, I would definitely run that with a ll or something.
