Domination is essentially OK, but not on this map.
There is for sure a good side and a really bad side.
PGI really needs to reconsider the location for the domination ring so it is not so weighted in one teams favor.

The map is poorly designed to begin with. You can't really find a bunch of balanced areas on this map, because the original map designers just designed a piece of land without being concerned that the different areas would be balanced and create interesting situations.

If you're going to have a large map that can be divided into different ways depending on game mode, you almost always have to keep the game modes in mind from the start. Frozen City 2 is a good example of a map that was designed with multiple game modes in mind. That's why it's easy to move the axis of engagement to create variety on this map. It didn't happen by accident.

This is why I roll my eyes when people insist on keeping these old maps. They simply weren't well designed to begin with. It's like trying to make a balanced world map for Risk. No matter where you put the borders, Australia is still going to have the advantage of isolation. You put a canon on the border of Indonesia and you start gathering troops in Australia. Every time. :)

Peaks domination sucks. If your team gets the low land and derps out into the L and M cured area they can easily be surrounded and shot from three directions. It's the same for grim plexus. Canyon network the light spawn can literally have a light jump jet over the wall and into the green circle as soon as it powers up. Domination in general just plain sucks from poor placement of the circle. One side is most definitely the loser side.

The best you can hope for on alpine dom is getting a light ecm to escort a lrm boat up the old h nine ten area and behind enemy lines to fragment them and hope your assaults aren't all girls and engage the enemy so you have two fronts forcing the enemy to spilt while focusing lrms on the biggest threats like an atlas ddc.

This map is absolutely imbalanced for domination, it must be fixed.
One team can cap zone from safe place at bottom of mountain, other team can enter zone only under fire at top or side of mountain.
As result, all matches are very quickly ended by winning team which spawned at the bottom of mountains, top spawned team will lose.

but yes, this map is poor for domination.

Well first circle location was more fair for both teams than circle location we have now, but don't worry folks let PGI get the stats, datas or maybe a god's message during night then they will fix it Posted Image
