I just can't figure out a good build for the PHX-1K.
No matter what I come up with the result is either too slow, too hot or too weak. Yet on paper it should be a faster and nimbler BJ-1X wubs build but no matter what I try that perfect balance between speed, fire-power and coolness just doesn't appear.
I've managed to come up with three alternatives which I feel is okay but none of them really clicks.
The first is slow (for a hawk at least) and feels weak somehow. It have the advantage of being able to zombie. (Though my CT usually gets blown up before my STs but with the vulnerable arms it's probably only a matter of time before I lose both at same time.) Because of the Zombie possibility this is actually my favourite. Just wish it didn't feel so slow and weak.
Nr. 1 PXH-1K
The second is the one I guess best fulfils the laser vomit meta. It's just so insanely hot.
Nr. 2 PXH-1K
The third and last one should be th best one on paper yet it just feels lackluster when I played it. And it is a bit on the toasty side too. But not as bad as the previous build.
Still, it is by far the coolest looking mech build in the game. All that's missing is a Stetson and you have an sci-fi gun-slinger. (Seriously, if you own the -1K, try this build in the mechlab and look at it in the camo set up. It's awesome!)
Nr. 3 PXH-1K
Any suggestions on which to pick?
Any suggestion on how to improve one of them?
Any suggestions on another better build I haven't thought about?

I like full armor, six medium lasers(two each arm, two center torso) 300 standard, double heatsinks(adding three, two in engine), FF, and endo. Makes quite a good zombie.

I'd go with Something Like This, remembering that you don't have to alpha all the lasers at once. Use it like a Light, and harass bigger 'mechs. If you want something that's more durable, of course, you can go with This Instead; Sacrifice a little speed and pulse lasers for more durability in close quarters - though of course you'll want to avoid being shot by 'mechs larger than yourself.

Overall I think a Phoenix Hawk without jump jets is bollocks, I'll leave this one to the Kuritans.
If I absolutely had to run this, I might try something like a "Super Wolfhound" build, with 3xERLL in the arm. Peek from corners, torso twist, and protect that arm like your life depended on it (which it does). If you fail, you still have 2xML in the CT.

I have 8 spl in it and the biggest engine I could fit. I have gotten 6-7 mech kill matches with it. With the speed I get I go around behind and core them. its my go to mech now.

I don't like the variant either, it's just a bad BJ-1X. I ended loading 3 ERLLas, because ERLLas always work. But meh, similar build on the 1B is much better.
Bad BJ-1X (6ML&2MPL) still served me fairly well. (I literally named the build "bad BJ-1X" on my mechlab sheet)
