Perhaps like MW4 Had(as people Tell me Never Played MW4)

in this case PGI would Create(if none where Avalable) a JJ Mech for Every Chassis,
this Includes all BattleMechs and OmniMechs balance assisted By quirks,
(Remember all OmniMechs have to Take Full JumpJets)

the Biggest Problem i see is with one Omnimech the StormCrow,
(which could be Fixed/Balanced with a -20% Twist Speed(Per JJ-ST)

but think of all the Amazing Variants you would have,
Flying LCT, Flying Com, Flying WLF, Flying ADR, Flying CN9, Flying HBK,
Flying KTO, Flying IFR, Flying DRG, Flying RFL, Flying JM6, Flying ARC,
Flying WHM, Flying BL7, Flying On1, Flying MDD, Flying EBJ, Flying HBR,
Flying AWS, Flying BLR, Flying STK, Flying MAl, Flying BNC, Flying AS7,
Flying KGC, Flying GAR, and Flying WHK,

Thoughts, Comments, Concerns?
Thanks,

JJ are nice. Hard points and their location is better. Also, keep in mind, JJ are fairly mediocre on anything about 60 tons, and completely useless after 80 tons.

Jump jets hardly matters in this game. I really wish we could get better JJs that would also let you control movement while in the air. Using the JJs we have now close to an enemy is virtual suicide (Duck Hunt Time!) :(

Certain variants/chassis having access to jump jets and others without adds some additional diversification to the mech lineup. If every mech had the same options available at the same tonnage points, mechs would be interchangeable aside from geometry. Having one mech have access to jump jets and another without (though preferably with some sort of additional benefit to offset the lack of jump jets) should lead to sidegrade equality of options.

A good example upcoming being the Stormcrow vs the Huntsman; one being faster with strange hitboxes whilst the other has jump jets and slightly more room (and hardpoint diversity) for guns. The differences lead to pilots taking a given mech to best suit their playstyle more adequately. Assuming, of course, that the tradeoffs for jump jets/no jump jets are, indeed, equal and worthwhile. In heavy and assault mechs, that's not generally the case, with jump jets being anemic. In lights and mediums, however, jump jets can absolutely provide some serious lift.

You must play a heavy or assault mech. Jump jets are so important to my play style (lights and mediums) that I won't even consider a mech that doesn't have them.

To each their own.

MW4 was. Iffy on JJs I think. I imagine that was the floatyness that PGI didn't like.

Not all could equip JJs either. Pretty sure dropship start missions equipped mechs with ejecting thrusters before they landed.

I almost instantly unequipped all special equipment save for AMS in that game and downsized my engines massively, because nothing mattered apart from loading up on armor and as big guns as possible.

So yeah. Not much point.

True dat.

If you can't kill an assault mech in one salvo, you are not trying hard enough.

My old Ebon Jaguar with 2x Gauss Rifles, 1 ERLLas, and 2x LRM10 was a beaaast. Ate assaults for breakfast, all thanks to engine downsizing.....

But, yeah. MANY chassis in MW4 could not take jump jets. It was about a 50/50 split in availability as far as the mechs provided being able to take them.

A jump jet variant for each mech.

And 1 TAG only slot on all mechs to guarantee everyone can be effective against ECM with SSRM / LRM.

We can make guided missiles great again.

Yup Omni mechs, unless you find the best pod and make that the JJ variant with no other hardpoints.

1-2 JJ are still really good if you also know how to push back and turn at the same time for short periods of time relating to the engine size. Exploit or good play style, no comment it just helps with avoiding damage and quicker positioning.

Do we really need JJ Stormcrows, HellBRs and EbonJs? Even if you locked it into the center torso this would be a very slight nerf to some of the best builds and a buff to mechs with no center torso hardpoints.

As much as I like Jumpjets I think this is a terrible idea. I like the fact that some mechs come with the downside of not being able to jump. Lets keep it that way.
