I had two excellent matches in Frozen City last night.

The first was Domination. My team was coming from the west; both sides snuggled in to their trading positions and did that for a while. Then the majority of them starting pushing down the hill into the circle. Suddenly I see one of our Phoenix Hawks step out and basically join their push. He pops a UAV over their entire team and runs like hell. Two thirds of them chase the squirrels (I think he had another friendly Hawk with him). Seeing the enemy attention diverted, the rest of us push into them and mop up.

The second was regular skirmish where both teams ended up on opposite sides of the dropship. Bog-standard before; rather unusual now. We were doing the usual "jam up in chokepoints trying to cross over" and losing trades, so I called for us to fall back and set up a reverse slope defense, because the enemy was getting one for free right now and we were already down two machines. Remarkably, vocal people agreed, and everyone did exactly that. When the enemy pushed up they were put into the same situation, and we picked them off one at a time, eventually mopping up the final survivors.

An effective flank/scout AND a coordinated pug team in the same day? Perhaps I should have purchased a lottery ticket.

Btw, I love the stories, keep em coming! One of these days, when I et some time I'll post up my commando run there. Just gotta find the time to do it from my computer...

Story from Frozen City...

I decided to stop my Phoenix Hawk PXH-1K at a convienence store to buy a newspaper and a hot coffee while I waited for both teams to move in closer (I'm short range you see).

Things began to happen, so I ran out the store and quickly climbed into my mech. I remembered the paper and my coffee but guess what.....I DROPPED MY WALLET! It must have fallen out of my suite during my mad scramble to my mech.

After the battle I went back and looked for it, but nothing. The clerk also said he didn't see it.

Once back on the Dropship I went to cancel my credit card only to see that SOMEONE did find my wallet and not only charged my card for some softcore porn (Truebirth Girls Gone Wild) but also ordered the Solaris finals on Pay Per View :/.

I'm still fighting with the credit card company over the charges. They cancelled my card too and it will take months to get a new one out here near the Periphery.

Point of the story, leave your wallet on the Dropship in your footlocker and take a money clip planetside instead. Oh, and don't trust store clerks in Frozen City because now that I think of it, he said he was a big Solaris fan....
