So, to quote my boss, "I took the bull by the horns" and contacted PGI on this issue. My boss is the cliche king btw.

Anway, Bobby Jubraj, Technical Support Representative @ Piranha Games contacted me back with an answer.

My original question.

When you die in a match and ultimately leave before the match is over (but defiantly after you die), do you still receive full rewards on events that take place after you leave? I am referring specifically to assists or KMDDs. Rewards you would have earned anyway had you stayed. Example. You strip an Atlas down from fresh to cherry red everything and no arms and then you die. You leave the match and then someone else kills it with a machine gun shot. Will you still be rewarded for the KMDD and assist for that kill?

His response.

So yes, in the example of your Atlas here you would still be awarded the assist and the KMDD after you disconnected because you did the most damage to that 'Mech before you died.

So in summary, as long as you disconnect anytime AFTER you're 'Mech has been destroyed, all achievements and rewards accrued BEFORE death will still be counted once this match has been completed. It might just take a little time for everything to show up on your account if you're not in the end of round screen.

So, there is official word from PGI. You can disconnect after you die with confidence that you will get your full rewards.

Although I am sure others still will not believe it.

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for.
