It is not secret that both the Free Rasalhague Republic and House Liao have a neutral standing between each other, with more stability than the other Great Houses together who are often attacking each other because of long-standinig feuds and the menace of the Clans (particulrly with the FRR which lies on the bother of the Clan Invasion corridor,so that got me thinking.
What does everything think (Liaos, feel free to post here too, your 2 C-Bills) about both our states forming an alliance and helping each other out in defending the Worlds from Liao enemies while in return, House Liao lends suport to the FRR for not only our military campaigns, but humanitarium aide as well?
Although both our nations are on opposite side of the Inner SPhere and House Liao does not get attacked all that often by the Clans, whereas the FRR is under constant bombardment by the Wolves and Jade Falcons (with occausions, the Smoke Jaguars), if the Chancellor of House Liao agrees to help strengthen FRR borders and help to repel the Clan Invaders, the FRR canalso do the same against Liao enemies (namely Davion) and hopefully (I like to think), would forge a much stronger alliance that could really help in strengthening both of our borders and making us both (the smallest nations that we are) top power nations in the IS.

The way the game works we couldn't defend Liao. And Liao could only defend us from clans.

Wait if Liao attacks or defends and we get the call too arms, we can help defend or support any other house we want. So actually it would be possible. Not saying easy but possible. A litlte play testing would show how possible and weather a viable way too help another house across the sphere.

Aside from Liao being one of the poorest and most unstable factions and was the recipient of humanitarian aid, not originator of it there's some useful stuff in the idea.
Liao is shafted by map position. Marik is their only possible ally, Davion their only possible enemy. Ever. Fighting Liao for Davion takes us to... the southern periphery. Every match fighting Liao is flat out wasted energy for Davion that would be better spent going north to fight Clans or carrying on a age old grudge with Kurita.
However Liao has literally nothing else to do. If they want to play FW they can either defend Clan fronts or attack Davion.
Davion already doesn't have the population to entertain all of Liao, Marik and Kurita. Adding another faction of players on that border is just going to breed more ghost drops. Giving Liao an option to shift up to the Clan border with FRR for example?
They need.... something. Like quirking a mech with bad hitboxes, they're in a bad map spot and need some other opportunities to draw population there.

The game should have been built around Solaris VII and stables. Period. That would be the end of any faction issues.
It boggles the mind.
Zelazni Stables for the win!! Everything to ride!!

Noble idea though. Thanks you for the offer.
And we have no problem fighting Davions 24/7.
...when they are available...
Go Proxis!! Go NBT!!
.

Hey. We were standing outside Liaos window with a boom box in the rain trying to get drops for weeks and nothing. Don't get bitter because now that you've decided you're ready for a relationship again we've moved on to CJF. She may be insane and abusive but at least she's got time for us.
Unlike Romano Liao, she's insane, abusive and doesn't have time for anyone.

I think the fact that FW changed last patch is what got the Unit back to playing.
Quite frankly it still has little to offer as far as the actual planets go.
The issue is we're fighting for MC scraps that we have to somehow roleplay into some sort of worth (mech bay, and very little else).
If PGI would allow for planet voting rather than faction voting (their algorithm is so bad), and make planets have proper worth (factories - production of certain mechs/weapons/engines) then you would see folks fighting for value rather than hunting for a fight with the blue guys or green guys or red guys. We shouldn't be fighting each other, necessarily, because canon dictates, but rather what is at stake.
We want Tikonov...
Why do we want Tikonov?
Because it has Earthwerks an Ceres Metals on it.
Because it produces Cataphracts and Quickdraws
Because it produces XL 280 engines.
Because it produces the Donal PPC, the Aberdovey Laser and the illustrious Ceres Arms Medium Pulse Laser.
We should be fighting for resources, and we are not.
Take an industrial planet and not only dole out MC, but weapons, engines and modules in random, small quantities, to the Unit, to divvy up to the young pilots, who are in need.
Might as well turn the Macro to Micro, close Faction Warfare, call it Solaris VII, form stables and let the betting begin.
Sweet sweet Romano ...I think she's dead "Horatio".
Tis the Year of the Sun-Tzu.

I'll fight alongside Capellans anyday. So called "underdogs" needs to stay together in any possible way.
Now if they could retcon the worst lore bits in the Dark Age era and make sure the FRR... Rasalhague Dominion becomes a major power and switch color to orange then Im all good
