Much of the pushback against such an idea was based on the honesty of players to be able to play both sides correctly. ie, not throwing matches for the faction that they don't prefer.
Well, last night I encountered a situation that blows the argument out of the water.
For the past few days in Faction, the only game in town has been a Davion world being defended by, well, everybody. Every IS faction is represented in the queue, and it's pretty much been PUG luck the entire time.
So, I'm in a match, and one player is being very vocal typing comments while playing. The situation devolves into a fight, with nastiness and everything else that comes from being an internet tough guy. Every time the drop leader tries to give directions/advice, this guy uses the Command Wheel responses to drown him out, making it difficult to organize. We come to realize, this guy hasn't even left the spawn 20 minutes into the match. He's just there to disrupt our battle. He even admits that he has no desire to help Davion win, as it goes against his goals.
We lose the match, and of course, he's the last 4 deaths. 0 points scored.
He shows up again in several other battles, where we start telling players to report him. All the while he's spamming the Command Wheel to make an annoyance of himself from spawn, at one point causing 2 players to quit, which is his goal. We're down 10 mechs in the fight because of this.
So, my point is, players don't need a 2nd profile or account to disrupt and dishonestly play this game. All they need to do is nothing during drops. Or move, but not shoot, as I saw another player do in a scouting mission the day before.
Sure, we can report them, but that usually takes days or weeks of reports before someone gets looked at. and by that time, the damage is done. I've lost out on prizes and wins because of dishonest play.

PGI is not fast with their bans, there was a video of a certain player around here on Crimson in a RVN sniping mechs he couldnt even see from the island. He was also leading targets behind buildings before they came out. This video went around the forums and has been around for almost 2 years and i just dropped in a match with said player about 3 weeks ago.
Id say his name but ya know....CoC and all. He acutally has a few names, or its just copy cats.

I wish PGI would comment on players that get reported whether it be FP or QP. How do we even know it is being looked at? And, if it is, what is threshold of reports that cause an action? And if there is an action what are the consequences? I specifically report almost everyone I see suiciding. Has PGI taken any action at all directly linked to reporting?

What keeps me away from creating a new account and trolling any faction with a deck of trial'mechs?

The fact that if found out you'll get perma banned on your Main account as well. how does that sound?

You can have two accounts i think, but on none of them can you pull those shenanigans!

"IF"
As in: "IF" i really would want that, i could do that all day every day, hiding behind a proxy.
You can write it bold and italic all you want, up side down if you want to, you can literally do nothing against such behavior.
Besides, you're off the point.
I'll ask again, why is trolling an argument against two profiles on one account.
Why would someone troll with one of his two profiles on his mainaccount when he clearly could troll "saver" on a new account without having to worry about facing consequences other then getting his troll account banned?

You can have as many accounts as you seem fit.
Though, if you intent to keep them, you'd be adviced to follow the code of conduct on any of them.

You could, maybe, but then again, mind you you're in their live client, which at any point they can just hop on and watch every single last match you just had, as well as noticing the proxy and then decoding, which then leads to a evidebtal ban of all accounts.
And I write bold and italics because I'm speaking as a moderator, and not as myself. To make a point in short. This is something serious we're talking about.
As for why troll with one of two alt accounts...
That question is open ended. They could be bored, not caring, anything. I can't tell you why they do so. But people do it anyways not caring, or just doing it because they want to, and one day find their account banned.

Not "with one of two alt accounts" but with one of his two profiles on his main-account IF we would have two profiles on our main-account.
Isn't this what this thread is about?

You can't have more than one profile per account. Storm was talking about two different accounts, not just one.

I derped out somewhere, probably about the alts.
Now that I remember, PGI said you could have a alt IS or clan account, but they aren't linked to each other I don't believe. could be wrong since I never really did so.

Like in all game with a matchmaker to be more accurate. You can't have command like "!admin abuse". Oh wait we could with private drop, except we dont get cbills making it completely useless, isnt it funny?

This is a fact and there are a couple videos around. Its also a real problem in game. Even if it is less than 1 % which it may well be, if the matches are quick, one guy can ruin a lot of matches.
Putting a cap on high alphas will make this situation less of a problem.

7d2d has public and private servers. Its also that games worste feature. But anyway, the public servers are heavily trolled by cheats. The answer everyone gets is go to a private server.....
