How does it work now post nerf last year?

I can't find anything by searching ECM on the threads (PGI: hint we need better search functionality)

Thanks!

Simply reduced range from WTFBBQ 180 meters radius to half that.

Really?

I knew about the range reduction, but it seems to work differently now. E.g. everyone can target at ease.

Either that or many more people run BAP these days.

The Magic Jesus Field ends at 200M, so people can target you almost normally from 200M-90M, a 110M distance VS the old 20M distance

The MJF is what prevents the target acquisition

I locked and launched LRMs on ECM mechs without BAP. At 500+ meters. Lock took a while but it happens. Not sure if this is because the mech that radar locked it for my lock is inside the magic jesus bubble or if it is simply now possible to lock missiles on ECM mechs if you target them long enough.

UAV or a friendly mech in that 110M Goldilocks zone

You know you can shoot LRMs without a lock right? They just land where you point the reticule. So a stationary mech within 1000m, regardless of ECM, can easily be peppered with missiles and AFAIK they won't get an 'incoming missiles' warning either.

You get the "incoming missle" warning if you're in the trajectory of the lauched missles....even if their aiming at a mech that isn't you.

It's basically a "you're in the flight path" warning.

...are you sure?

Pretty sure it's lock exclusive

Hence why you don't get the warning when an ally runs past you, and you get hit with LRMs, when you're obviously in their flight path

Not 100% positive...

But I seem to have a lot of memories of getting the warning when I step in front of an enemy that is getting shot at

Edit: It's possible I'm retroactively altering the memories to fit what I think happened *shrug*

its only locks...

and getting kills with manual lrm aim is rare... it mostly happens on shut down mechs that over heat.

lets see mcgral post manual lrm kills and show real skill lol... instead of the 1k plus damage screen shot on a mech any noob could do it with. hah
