Was coring a jagermech, internals were dark red and he just stopped taking damage. Shot him for about 15 seconds without him taking any damage.

Interesting.

That's how it should be anyways, unless it's a skirmish and the last guy standing on a losing team is a DC which can not be killed.

This isn't a problem, its right; even if it's a glitch.

DCs should be invulnerable but counted as dead.

I know this might mean some people will drop in the middle and you won't get the kill, but small price to pay for reasonable chance to re-enter a match.

No, you don't understand, he was fighting me. and disconnected just before I would have killed him becoming invulnerable without me knowing it. I ended up wasting a good 15 seconds shooting him trying to bring him down while his teammates racked up the damage on me.

Allowing DC's to be invulnerable only leads to an increase in ragequitting.. or possibly lagswitching to simulate a short DC And reapear after you've changed focus so they can then kill you..

basically it leads to abuse of the mechanic..

That's exactly what it was, an exploit. Hit alt-f4 and get your team a phantom target that wont die.

But it's not really an exploit, it was an error that he was invulnerable.

In MWO anyone that DCs is supposed to be destructible.

To those that making DCed 'Mech invulnerable would result in an exploit, I believe there are ways to combat that.

How indestructible is he going to be when he comes back and you have taken out his 11 other team mates.

Bad thing to try and exploit.

An unusual glitch of some kind. Disco mechs are normally destroyable. Have seen many of them polished off and bagged a few myself.

So alpha like a mofo, DC, reconnect then reapeat.
Got it. Good idea. So good it sounds like something PGI came up with all on their own.
Russ, is that you?
