I guess there will be two ladderboards for this, one with and one without quirks enabled.

Leaderboards are only for Quick/Faction play, since those are the only ways to earn C-Bills/XP.

Because you don't earn C-Bills/XP for Private play, which is the only place you will have the option to play forced stock mode, with or without quirks, there won't be any leaderboards.

What announcement, story, rumor did I miss?

I second that. Last I heard, there was just a stock-mode toggle coming to private matches. Is there something else going on?

Let's see - I actually enjoyed running the LCT-1V; just remember a Jenner is almost twice your size and to RUN from the damned things, they'll murder you.

As others have mentioned, all the Centurions can be solid. Hunchback 4Gs are dangerous. The 4P and other variants can work as well. The Griffin 1S is great. The 1N should be good, but MWO minimum ranges make it entirely helpless under 90m, which is a shame. The Enforcer really needs 200% ammo-per-ton, because 150% of TT isn't enough bullets.

I ran a TDR-5S with great success for many matches. Stock Thunderbolts come with MAX armor for their size, which isn't all that common in stock. The Thud can really take a pounding. (My brother, like Bishop, preferred the 5SS). I also enjoyed the C1 Catapult, just keep in mind you don't have much ammo, don't waste missiles.

I tried a few Orions, but couldn't manage the heat with the old style SHS. Have to try them now. I ran the Victor and liked it, but it is thin skinned. Did my best stock Assault work in a Battlemaster 1D. Didn't own Atlases back then but they were TOUGH customers.

I cannot wait to try the various Warhammers, Marauders, and Archers stock. We didn't have those before.

I would imagine a 3025 match would be pretty balanced.

a stock mode, unless it limited what you could take, will limit the sellections to what comes with endo fero and DHS in particular

Who will reign supreme? Me, of course. Isn't that obvious?

Considering the usual quality - there won't be a choice - only stock or standard - no filter for tech levels. So you need a Gm or gentleman agreement But at least better than none - heck the no quirk option alone would be enough

If I had the time to join, I'd be rocking my WHM-6R I kept one of my 6R's in stock, just encase I had a chance to join SMM....Posted Image

Side note... the nice thing Russ clarified in the TH was you didn't have to worry about keeping a stock mech or reconfiguring. If you pick a mech (presumably one you own) it'll just drop with the stock loadout so no need to mess with your loadouts.

Other side note... I know you'll be able to turn off quirks, but what about pilot skills... I'm assuming those would still apply? Wonder I there would also be an option to turn off both quirks AND skills... truly Pilot vs. Pilot in stock mechs at that point.... ?

Well since you cant "pug" stock mode and you need to be invited to a private server then i dont see the problem with set rules. Said rules could change sometimes for diversities sake.
