I tried sticking with the newest Radeon drivers, dubbed "Crimson", ever since they came out, but MWO seems to not play well with them. Performance-wise, it's great, but there's certain graphics that glitch out (the voting % ring, and the Assault/Conquest point cap bars constantly flicker, making it hard to tell when someone is actually capping a point or not).

But if that was the only problem I'd be ok with it, what finally made me revert to the last pre-Crimson driver is that MWO would crash once every couple hours or so in the middle of a match. I would have to reboot my PC and I would be dead by the time I could rejoin anyway.

Hopefully when the devs get back to work after the new year they'll get on to correcting these issues Posted Image

You may have to take into account your operating system, DirectX version, 64bit vs 32bit and video card memory.

Yeah should probably list that :)

Windows 10 - 64 bit
16GB System RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7970 - 3072MB (not overclocked)
DX 11

No CPU...hmm...Posted Image

But my 3570k OC and AMD HD 7950 is cranking along at 90+ FPS.

Did you do a clean install?

I have something similar, though it only seems to occur at 1080P, as running the game in a window at a lower resolution seems to make the errors vanish for whatever reason.

I only found this out when my trusty old 19" monitor that ran at 1400x900 decided to up and die on me so i started to use the screen I had intended for my Xbox.

Also i've tried fiddling with every setting I can and it makes zero difference if it's on low or very high, the PC i have is old but has always run the game ok with an A8 apu processor with a R270 GPU (Apu is disabled as isn't compatible with the R series for whatever reason.)

I also have a 3570k overclocked at 4.5 GHz I think, I didn't include it because the graphics drivers were causing the problem so the CPU is a constant. I also get great FPS, that's not the problem.

* Graphics glitches and occasional crashes with Crimson drivers
* No crashes or glitches without the Crimson drivers

I doubt the issue is MWO here.
And more that AMDs new drivers are as terrible as the previous ones.

You won't likely see a resolution until AMD crank out a few more updates.

When you switch drivers, are you cleaning them out with DDU?

I have the same issue on a completely new Windows 10 installation.
I also had it on Windows 7 before thew new Win10 installation.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
RAM: 4x4GB 1866MHz 9-10-27 Corsair
GPU: Club 3D 7950 royalKing 3GB
MB: MSI Z77A-G43
HD: 2x250GB Samsung Evo 850 (Raid0)
PSU: Corsair TX650
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster P2770 (Running 1920x1080)

I will try older drivers and different resolutions later today.

http://support.amd.c...s%2010%20-%2064

Catalyst 15.7.1
http://support.amd.c...2064&rev=15.7.1

No glitching graphics on voting screen... and ALT-TAB is much smoother than on Crimson drivers.
The Catalyst center suggest an update which i will try later... unless it turns out to be a Crimson update.

I also have the flicker issue with the cap points. Don't notice anything else. Running win 7 x64 ult DX11 4770K 16GB 1866 R9 290X all under water and never over 40C Posted Image

I've had the flicker problem for quite some time and it's only the cap point bars. I think it was happening well before crimson drivers. It doesn't bother me enough to worry about it or mess with settings. Everything runs smooth as butter and is cranked all the way up. If it ain't broke don't fix it. lol

I have not had the problem until immediately after updating the AMD driver a couple of days ago.

The Hotfix version fixed the issues with the voting screen and hud issues.

I did not try the AMD hot fix. My video card is based on the AMD 7870. I downgraded to the AMD Catalyst™ 15.7.1 driver and the problem went away. According to the AMD website:

AMD Radeon™ R5 235X, Radeon™ R5 235, Radeon™ R5 230, Radeon™ R5 220, Radeon™ HD 8470, Radeon™ HD 8350, Radeon™ HD 8000 (D/G variants), Radeon™ HD 7000 Series (HD 7600 and below), Radeon™ HD 6000 Series, and Radeon™ HD 5000 Series Graphics products have been moved to a legacy support model and no additional driver releases are planned. This change enables us to dedicate valuable engineering resources to developing new features and enhancements for graphics products based on the GCN Architecture.

For users looking for a WHQL certified driver, the AMD Catalyst™ 15.7.1 driver will continue to be available for users running Windows® 10, Windows® 8.1, and Windows® 7.

So I found the solution to my problem. But why did the AMD SW tell me to update to new drivers if it doesn't support my video card?

It says below 7600 and you noted your card is 7870. I am running a 7950 with no issues.

I think the latest released crimson driver just landed a few days ago though I haven't yet had a chance to play MWO to see if things are all good like they were with the beta drivers.

You sure you're not overclocked? I have an Nvidia card that I got not too long ago and the video driver would crash out every hour or so of play. If it weren't for Windows 10's ability to reboot a graphics card without rebooting the entire system I would have had to reboot my PC every time this happened. I know we are talking about two different graphics card makes here but this crash only happened with games that ran on Cryengine. I called in to EVGA and they told me about a "debug mode" that I could put my card in to disable the factory overclock setting and ever since I turned debug mode on MWO has been running smoother than a baby's bottom. If I turn debug mode back off MWO goes right back to crashing my video driver every so often. It seems that cryengine really disagrees with some card's overclocking themselves so I would double check to make sure you're card isn't being overclocked, and if it is, find some way to turn off the overclock and try playing some more.

Man thanks for this, Mole. Solved my problem too and I've got a Radeon.
