Played my AS7-K last night on an invasion to test the new quirks. For the first time, my Gauss Rifle survived till I died :) Extended E range and the -25% crits help make the K a viable option for faction warfare :) Thank you PGI :)

That is nice thing, actually. Good on you and on PGI.

I would not draw my conclusion so soon Posted Image .

There is a reason the K variant is the worst.

Try some more matches :)

Its more the fact that the big ballistic weapons always popped with little effort, on the HBK too. The negative crit change allows the weapons to actually retain some survivability on these mechs.

The nice energy range quirks also allow's it to do 2-3 ER LL's VERY nicely to pair with the Gauss.

It along with a few of the Maulers actually makes it the best energy range quirks out there.

Its defiantly in the best state its ever been, but it still is the "oddball" atlas of the bunch. Where most of the AS7's are the gods of short range brawling, the 7K has always been the "ranged" atlas, which puts it in a weird spot given the natural drawbacks of the AS7's as a ranged platform over mechs like the King Crab which have much higher weapon mounts better suited for long range poking.

K also got dual AMS with enough modules slots to pack AMS overload. Can be darned effective in covering the team from LRMs.

Indeed, it may be the 'oddball' Atlas however it was the first one I'd bought before I switched to clans and honestly I've had the most fun with it considering its utility aspect.

Being able to effectively trade damage at range and act as a support platform with AMS has always been my go-to for the K. Though I argue that I did alternate using it as a brawler and mixed platform sometimes as well being the first and only Atlas I had for a while.

Did two more invasions.... same, the Gauss stayed until I had to eject (was a stick and used up all my ammo) and second one, it blew up 2 seconds before I died (I think I heard one say "everyone, shoot the Atlas!").... Gauss on the AS7-K works as intended.... THANK YOU PGI!!!!!

Oh, the long range of the AS7-K is best when used on the Faction field :)

K was the first Atlas I bought (which was one of the first mechs I bought period.)

Only reason I still have it is nostalgia. Quirks be damned, the hardpoints suck.
