Didn't even see any of them lately both in QP and FP. Hell, even the other Maulers but I saw a 1R just once in FP.
Have they become too shy now to come out?
Honestly, I have several Maulers (including the MX90) but I feel that I prefer the BLR-2C because it's point and click Wubs is easier to play for FP ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think after the nerf, fewer people would be playing them. However, I never thought it was popular. I found it scarce before the quirk change.

I wouldn't mind playing mine but I'm busy with my Phoenix Hawks. I've seen a couple but I think most people who liked that style of play switched over to the Kodiak.

Well they were nerfed and you have the Bear to replace them even if they weren't nerfed, now it's a no brainer
Yeah, balancing team here is pure morons

KDK-3 is better in the vast majority of situations in solo queue because you can't really control the range of engagement in pug drops. For CW, drop tonnage got reduced a bit a while ago and the top 35t lights were influenced by the rescale. I feel like there are less assaults in CW in general, seems like quite a few people went back to using a deck of mostly heavys. But i played a few games of CW this weekend, and if there were any assaults, there was always atleast one MX90.

In Solo que KDK-3 Kodiak has replaced the Mauler, for CW it is the reduced drop tonnage and that Heavies are more utalitarian than the assaults in most cases.

Some said that MX90 and BNC-3M can beat KDK-3 but I don't see the Banshee too often either. Maybe they only exist in elite IS group drops? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The MX90 is still strong, it's just be "obsoleted" by the KDK-3 (along with most other assaults).

The king is dead. Long live the king.
I know with 100% certanty (because we tested it) that pre-nerf MX90 beats the KDK-3 at 600-650m+ ranges. Inside of that range, not. Post nerf MX90 is simply worse than KDK-3. And Banshee is simply a joke in comparison.
There is no reason to use dakka-Mauler compared to KDK-3, coz its much slower, has less armor and lower hardpoints, and coz KDK-3 has enough range for most of your PUG engagements.

I like my LRM60 Mauler, but I don't play assaults very much and I'm not so good with the dakka Mauler builds

Cool, thanks!

An apprentice named the Kodiak. He was a pupil of mine before he turned clanner. He helped hunt down and destroy the assault mechs. The Kodiak was seduced by the dark side of the Inner Sphere.
