It is the snipers and LRMers who vote for the mode. They have no intention of stepping into the circle of death, they just want a nice target rich environment.

I usually run LRM boats, and I am always the guy in the circle trying to get other people to stay in it. LRMs work best in domination if you are popping the guy behind cover from 300 meters away. Domination is a team fight, everyone needs to be together and focusing fire. In my experience, the biggest problem with domination is people running of to kill a locust. so six mechs will be off someplace else, and the other team, unsurprisingly, decides to push.

You are right, I was being too general.

And then there are all the games where some doofus keeps saying "Get in the circle you idiots!" so people all blunder mindlessly into the circle and die from focussed fire.

There's more nuance to Dom mode than just running into the circle like sheep. And then berating those who don't.

"Just running into the circle like sheep" is not the only way to get into the circle. Do not have delusions of tactical grandeur: the vast majority of people staying outside the circle do so for self-preservation while hoping that some poor soul plays the diversion which they can exploit.

Of course I do not know about you specifically (never saw you playing) but in my experience overly passive behaviour is rarely motivated by concerns about the company's success.
Conversly, most aggressive pushes en masse I witnessed - on the side of both, the aggressors and the 'defenders' (a very polite term in most cases) - led to overwhelming success. In fact, I can't remember a single turkey shoot taking such a push apart.

At least folks have to move off the last 2 squares of the map. Domination feels more like how the original small maps played with more flanking in a confined area instead of poking at the same 2-4 spots.

I personally like the way it messes with the low skill players who try to hide or actually think the mode is important. Maybe folks will realize that waiting 30sec longer for a match is better than throwing everyone together by calling the newly potty trained t3.

9 out of 10 times, neither team knows how to play it...

they sit outside the circle and try to snipe eachother.

hell ive been winning these by singlehandedly camping the outer edge of the circle just out of view.

no contest.
no shots fired.
no damage done or taken.

win.. by far my least favorite game mode in pug matches.. yet... 70% of the time the pugs all pick it. why?

hell my last domination match, the whole team just sat outside the circle. enemy team too save a couple of scouts.

i just sat there on a hill inside the circle and won the game for my team.

... and then a pug on my team chimes in over voip at the end "and we loose..."

facepalm.

please stop picking game modes you don't know how to play, or don't want to play right Posted Image

PGI give me chatlogs, or game logs so I can personaly reach out to these people one on one without having to remember names like xXxUltimatePwnzer2uxXX122213

id be happy to friend these guys and drop with em sharing my limited knowledge. but no real good system to do that.

How is this possible? I mean it just can't be because 70% of matches played are not Domination,

Are you thinking Skirmish? 'cause that I can believe. 70% skirmish is a fairly likely outcome for me.

So,back to domination. Here is how you get your team to try "teaming".

Use the in game VOIP. it's super easy and it works.

You may need to give specific instructions as to where to stand rather than just say in the circle. You may would want to direct these nuckleheads to cover inside the circle.

I never pick Domination. Yet it is still picked whenever it shows up cause other players are dumb wankers. Yes, let's choose a mode that literally forces you to deathball at the same spot, every time.

Way to cut off imagination, PGI.

To be fair this is also how skirmish is played. We rush off to the designated point of contact (as per specific map) and deathball or play hidey-pokey.

I would venture that the reason so many players can't play objectives is that way too many only know how to play skirmish. Their tactical minds have starved to death by playing an endless stream of skirmish on HPG or Canyon.

That's because playing it Skirmish mode is all that matters in Domination matches. Destroying enemy's mobile field bases does nothing to change the match's outcome. PGI had derped when they wasted time creating this mode.
